Hillary's Tough - But Seh Sure Has a Short Memory

Hillary Clinton’s attacks on Barack Obama for what she calls, “complaining” are nothing but a last minute attempt to change voter’s minds.  Hillary’s about ‘change’ alright.  That’s all she’s done for the past 15 months during her campaign.  Just how many times has she ‘changed’ her strategy or talking points over those months anyhow?  Too many to count, that’s how many.  On the flip side, Barack Obama’s pretty much stayed on message.

Now she’s reported as saying,

“We were both asked some pretty tough questions. That's part of what happens in a debate and a campaign. And I know he spent all day yesterday complaining about the hard questions he was asked.  But you know, being asked tough questions in a debate is nothing like the pressures you face inside the White House.  And in fact when the going gets tough you can't just walk away... I think we need a president who can take whatever comes your way.”

How fast she forgets the past.  First she forgets all about her own support for NAFTA during her husband’s administration, and then she forgets about her own campaign strategist’s involvement with Columbia’s trade deal, she forgets about her husband’s involvement with China and trade, and then she forgets what really happened when she was First Lady and she and Chelsea landed in Bosnia.  She not only forgot once, she forgot the ‘truth’ at least 4 times according to videos.  Now she’s forgotten all about her “complaining” during that debate about 'always getting the first question, that even Saturday Night Live proves she’s being mistreated.'

Saturday night live has done at least 4 sketches of her being ‘picked on’ during her campaign debates and elsewhere;  Taking ‘her’ side for the most part, that ‘yes’ the media 'were' picking on her and giving Barack Obama a free ride.

Yes Hillary, you might be tough (it’s more like ‘arrogant’), but you sure are forgetful – another Ronald Reagan perhaps?  Will you forget your campaign promises too?

Tonight's Debate - Both Need a Jump of 5 pts in Polls to Consider it a Win

I was really pleased seeing mose polls showing Barack Obama taking away Hillary Clinton's huge lead (26 pts) in Pennsylvania this morning; but after careful thought, it occurred to me that the reason we have all these polls out today is to set a pointer for tonight's debate.

If the margin changes after the debate, it would make it appear that the person the polls most helped, proved beyond a doubt that there's a problem for the other candidate.

If the margin increases, even by 1 or 2 pts, Hillary's camp will claim victory.  If the margin decreases, Barack's camp will claim victory.

The polls currently show an average margin of 6pts.  I think the margins being spread out like they are (3, 5, 7 and 9) will make it almost impossible for either candidate to claim victory during the debate, unless one of them gets at least a 5 pt bump -- otherwise, neither will have been successful, or will have failed for that matter.

Am I wrong?

Yes Barack Benefits From Being Black, Just As Hillary Does Being a Woman, White and Famous

The Charlotte Observer reported on its Web site Monday that Bob Johnson, one of Hillary Rodham Clinton's top black supporters, was commenting on remarks previously made by Geraldine Ferraro, another Clinton supporter.

"What I believe Geraldine Ferraro meant is that if you take a freshman senator from Illinois called 'Jerry Smith' and he says I'm going to run for president, would he start off with 90 percent of the black vote?" Johnson said. "And the answer is, probably not."

What Bob Johnson and Geraldine Ferraro don’t seem to ‘get’ is, yes Barack Obama has benefited by being black, in the same way that Hillary has benefited from being a woman, white and very well known political figure.

The difference between Hillary’s campaign and Barack’s is, he had to ‘work’ for his name recognition, where as, she did not.  As she has told us many a time, she’s got 35 years of being in the spot light.  Obama only had about 10 years of political service, only 4 were considered to be on the national scale.

It’s on record that many blacks were leery of Barack Obama’s campaign.  Some felt it may be too soon for him to run, especially up against a well known, almost coronated nominee, President Bill Clinton’s wife, Hillary Clinton.  They also felt that because he was black, enough voters wouldn’t rally around him as they’ve seen in the past with other black candidates.   They were and still are, concerned about his life.

It was only after Barack talked to the voters in his own words, giving them his message about ‘change’ and ‘hope’, and only after he and his campaign strategists were able to prove they could possibly win the nomination by winning in Iowa, that Americans, and yes Blacks, came rushing to support Obama.

Yes Barack Obama is now benefiting from his ‘blackness’; but he’s also benefiting from his ‘whiteness’, his message to voters, and now after many months of hard work, ‘his’ well known name.

Barack's Telling Us What We Need To Hear - Not What We Want To Hear!

I guess I just don't comprehend what I read or something.

Looking at Barack Obama's "bitter" comments below, they show me NOTHING in the way that he is downgrading small town America - quite the opposite in fact - where he's saying THEY FELL THROUGH, etc..  When he says, admin's promise something and it never happens - he's speaking UP for the towns, not down, in my humble opinion.

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not." "And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

As for the comments about turning bitter and clinging to guns, religion or being anti-immigrant or anti-trade......I read them as saying, SOME turn to guns (violence), SOME turn to religion (pray for guidance), SOME turn anti-immigrant and anti-trade -- because they lost their jobs in, their view - because of them.

Obama's saying that's how they relieve their frustrations or anger.

The ONLY thing Obama might have said differently, in my view is by leaving out the word SMALL.  Big city folks experience the same anger and frustrations.  Small cities though, normally had one or two factories in town that EVERYBODY worked at -- now because of NAFTA unfair practices, they've lost those jobs.  In big cities though, there's a better chance for a job replacement.

Barack Obama's saying that politicians come around during election cycles and promise to bring more jobs; but nothing ever developes.

People are BITTER for that reason.
