Using our tax dollars to terrorize and kill women and children, must STOP!
Allegations of Israeli war crimes must now be investigated by a war crimes court otherwise there is no democratic process either in Israel or the US. The terrorizing tactic of targeting unarmed women and children by the IDF marks a new nadir in ethnic cleansing. America must review its policy of massive military aid that colludes in such atrocities. Using our tax dollars to terrorize and kill women and children, must stop!

I'm tempted to say, Colindale, that your comments mark a new nadir in hyperbole. I make that point because the facts speak for themselves, and are bad enough without a need for spurious comparisons with the worst atrocities in the history of the world. That kind of foolish overkill only weakens the argument. As I interpret the Gaza campaign, the reckless "shoot first" policy was dictated primarily by a desire to minimize Israeli casualties. That doesn't excuse it, a full accounting is justified, and the Israeli public and possibly the Israeli judicial system may be able to demand accountability - at least, we can hope so. I don't see Gaza as ethnic cleansing, though. Israeli settlement expansion has more of an ethnic cleansing element to it, but is not implemented by IDF gunfire.
You state, "Using our tax dollars to terrorize and kill women and children, must stop!" Whose tax dollars are you referring to? Do you pay U.S. taxes? Do UK tax dollars go to support the Israeli government?

Your 'interpretation' Sir, is, unfortunately, rubbish and you obviously are not a military man.
The killing of 415 women and children was an atrocity and a war crime.
And I am an American, living in London and I do pay US taxes and they ARE my tax dollars.
And it WAS an atrocity and whether YOU can see it as ethnic-cleansing or not, is immaterial.
Better, Sir, stick to what you know.

CAPITAL LETTERS ARE A FORM OF SHOUTING, and to me, generally signify that the arguer doesn't believe the facts are sufficient to justify his argument. Yelling at me, Colindale, won't make your point any more believable, whereas a realistic assessment of the evidence might have done a better job.
I'll let others read these exchanges to make their own judgments. No-one is attempting to justify the IDF actions, but the hyperbole used to term them a "new nadir" will strike most readers as counter-productive. It's obviously not true, and connotes a confusion between the expression of uncontrolled rage and the expression of legitimate criticism. Only the latter is likely to persuade open-minded observers who have yet to form an opinion.
