Once those ICBMs are fired from Israel
A US decision to allow its proxy to attack Iran could well prove to be the start of WWIII and the worst foreign policy error of the 21st century. Once those ICBMs are fired from Israel, with or without nuclear warheads, then, arguably, everyone living today will suffer the consequences.
From Alaska to Mexico and from London to Oman and Karachi - the world will have years to reflect on our stupidity and the arrogance of our elected representatives.

There is a reason why this is very unlikely and it's the same reason why it has not happened in the past. Even though there has been plenty of opportunity and rational on the part of the countries involved.
In an act of war, which this clearly would be...someone always benefits regardless of the outcome. The ones who benefit the most are nearly always those who instigate it. And these are nearly always the rich and powerful. And they nearly always survive unscathed. With a conventional war, this is a universal effect. Either by taking the spoils themselves or installing a puppet to oversee it.
A nuclear war, which would be triggered by such an attack...would neither leave anything to take possession of nor would the rich and powerful be able to survive unaffected.
Land that is uninhabitable is of no use to them. And nuclear fall out plays no favorites.
War and acts of war are only useful to the rich and powerful - those that instigate it - if they profit from it.
