Tragedy Of War

I expect a response from our right-wing participants on this one. But I'm used to it.

I've been accused of not supporting our troops because of my blog about the horror of Haditha. Well, here's another horror:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070927/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

I know the vast majority of our soldiers and Marines are good people who do their best under incredibly stressful situations. But things like this do happen in war and that is tragic.

My point when I highlight these things is, as always, not to put the blame on the troops but on the real villains in this quagmire in Iraq: George W. Bush and his puppet masters.

No matter how much some may try to defend these deeds and those who commit them, the fact remains that NONE of them would have happened if the neo-cons had not manipulated and lied our country into this war.

George W. Bush, Dick "The Monster" Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell and Condi Rice are all as guilty of murder as the soldier who pulls the trigger and kills an innocent Iraqi. Our country's collective soul has been damaged by these people.

If there is a judgement day, they will all be held accountable but unfortunately I'm afraid that won't happen.

Over a million Iraqis have fled their homes to nearby countries to escape the constant violence brought upon them by "Georgie" and the rest. And, like the victims of Katrina, most will never be able to afford to return to their homes or what is left of them.

What a legacy these monstrous neo-cons will leave. Their hands are permanently stained with the blood of all the Iraqi civilians who have been murdered AND with the blood of every American soldier and Marine who has been killed or wounded because of their arrogance, incompetence and greed.

Civil Liberties? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Civil Liberties!

Did you ever feel like someone was watching you? Have you ever felt that uneasy tingling feeling that something bad was about to happen?

Well, welcome to "Bush World." A new environment of "report-your-neighbor-if-they-look-suspicious" and "surveillance-is-a-good-thing" has become the norm.

If you can't find a parking space and you circle the block more than three times... You MUST be a terrorist!

Chicago is light years ahead of other cities according to IBM consultant Sam Docknevich:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070927/ap_on_re_us/chicago_security_system

The old right-wing adage: "If I'm not doing anything wrong, I need not fear my government," may be comforting to Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reilly listeners but it scares the Hell out of those of us who have studied history.

America is on a steep, icy slope toward becoming a police state. And it has been masterfully executed by Dick Cheney and the other neo-con monsters who are George W. Bush's puppet masters.

Wake up, folks, before it's too late!

How Deep Is Too Deep?

No, it isn't the title of the latest porno movie. Although what the Neo-Cons have done to this country IS obscene!

How deep is the pit of Iraq? How difficult is it going to be to get us out?

We had those questions answered last night at the televised Democratic debate. When asked: "If elected president, will you guarantee to have all our troops out of Iraq by the end of your term?" Not one of the top three candidates, Clinton, Obama or Edwards, could answer yes!

Note that the question was the END of your first term! 2013!

One of the biggest "applause" lines I've heard from Hillary Clinton during her campaign has been:

"January 20, 2009, my first day in office, I WILL end this war in Iraq!" Are your pants on fire, Hillary?

Believe me, I know what a quagmire looks like. And Iraq smells, looks and feels like a quagmire. And now our candidates are admitting they don't have the courage to make the difficult decision to END it!

What's wrong with our party? Elected "leaders" can find the time to pass resolutions condemning ads in the New York Times but won't fight the fight necessary to save the lives of our troops.

Hell, last night Hillary wouldn't even commit to which team she'd pull for in a New York Yankees/Chicago Cubs world series!

Wishy washy isn't a quality we need right now. This mess in Iraq MUST end! What I'm hearing from the front runners in our party is that "Georgie's" permanent-bases-in-Iraq is going to be a reality no matter who lives in the White House next. (Assuming these monsters don't declare martial law and stop the '08 election)

The tragic truth is: NO candidate in either party who has ANY chance of winning their party's nomination has the courage to stop this insanity.

I've never felt quite so betrayed. Any suggestions? Do "We The People" have ANY say anymore?

It's beginning to look like the choice in November, '08 is going to be like choosing between dying of a heart attack or being shot to death. Neither is acceptable.

Maybe "GOD" Has The Flu

Since there's nothing important going on in the world right now, (Quagmire in Iraq, arrogant, incompetent "Idiot In Chief, embarrassingly inept national media, Satan as Vice President, etc.),I thought I'd take a moment to shine the light on another incompetent entity: Notre Dame football.

Since my son began attending USC in 2001, I have become even more of a fan for college football. It's been an incredible run for the Trojans. But their dominance of Notre Dame has been a cause for much joy in our household. Except for one game a couple of years ago when our defense forgot to show up and we had to struggle to win, it's been a romping, stomping wonder to behold.

This year, Notre Dame is off to its worst start in school history: 0 and 4!

It doesn't stretch feasibility at all to think they will be 0 and 8 going into the game against Navy. And wouldn't it be something if they couldn't, for the first time in decades, handle NAVY?

The "military" academy schools have always been Notre Dame's guaranteed wins. Maybe not this year! Nothing is certain with a team who is on track to have 400 points scored against them while their offense may manage to score 90. (If current offense/defense stats hold)

I began to wonder if GOD might be in bed with the flu. I mean if Notre Dame is 0 and 4 what other explanation could there be? Or maybe SHE's just busy talking personally to George W. Bush. Guiding him through his "Crusade" in Iraq. No... That can't be it. He's 0 and 4 for successful years in Iraq.

Yeah, SHE MUST have the flu. I hope you feel better soon, GOD! "Georgie" and Charlie NEED your help!

FINALLY! Iraqi Government Has Something To Unite It

For years I didn't think it was possible for the "Leadership" in Iraq to unite or at least find common ground on ANYTHING. But, finally, "Georgie" has managed to accomplish something!

Today, the Iraqi's agree on SOMETHING! Unfortunately the thing they agree on is:

George W. Bush's mercenary army, Blackwater, should not be "immune" to prosecution for all the civilian deaths they are causing. Blackwater should not be able to run wild in the streets of Baghdad killing at will without any "Rules Of Engagement" or punishment for their acts.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070925/ts_nm/iraq_dc

So, I guess it's time for me to apologize to George W. Bush. Mr. President... I was wrong. You ARE able to make a positive change in Iraq. Your arrogance and incompetence have finally paid off for the "Democracy" in Iraq. Maybe there is finally hope that Iraqis can work together if given the proper incentive.

"Georgie" has FINALLY killed enough Iraqi civilians to get the attention of the fighting factions and caused them to come to a consensus.

It's a red-letter day in Iraqi history! And the red is the blood of all the innocent Iraqis who have died because of our "Idiot In Chief."
