Wanna Have A Beer With "Georgie" Now?

We heard throughout the 2004 election cycle what a good old boy "Georgie" was. They said he'd be the one who'd stop by the side of a road and help you fix your flat. They said he was the one you'd want to have over to your back yard barbecue for a beer.

Well, FINALLY, he's losing the support of the zombies on the right in Congress. One by one they're jumping off the sinking ship. FINALLY the 26% of hard-line supporters are beginning to realize that the only reason he'd stop to help you with that tire is because he put the nails in the road to give you the flat so he could pretend to help you while he reached in your pocket and stole your civil liberties and freedom.

"Georgie" is being exposed more each day as the incompetent dolt I've always said he was. Dick "The Monster" Cheney, it turns out, IS the MONSTER I've always said he was. It has been a puppet show from the beginning and as more and more of their lies, deception and arrogance are exposed by investigations, more and more of the 26% will jump from the ship these evil demons have set ablaze.

FINALLY! We can begin to regain control of our country and begin to restore our status and reputation in the world community!

Unless.... "THEY" figure a way to hold on to power! "We The People" need to watch them closely. "THEY" have always demonstrated the arrogance "THEY" continue to show. "THEY" have the "Patriot Act" to use to stop the 2008 election if another "terrorist incident" happens.

"THEY" should be impeached and, at the very least, tried for the treasonous acts they have committed against our country if not war crimes.

"THEY" will be shown by history for what they were: THE WORST ADMINISTRATION IN OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY!

"THEY" are the antithesis of patriotic. "THEY" are the antithesis of everything Americans should be. "THEY" are not the standard by which WE THE PEOPLE should be judged by the world.

Still wanna have a beer with "Georgie?"

Where Did THAT Come From?

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has been in the news lately because so many returning vets from Iraq are already exhibiting symptoms. In my last blog, You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet, I wrote about my concerns for these brave Americans and the absolute disgust I have for the Bush administration for bringing this horror upon our country's brave heroes.

In the comments from that previous blog were several from tigerdog, the wife of a Vietnam vet medic. We shared concerns and recollections of PTSD and I thanked her for being compassionate and helpful to her husband. People who suffer with the flashbacks, nightmares and painful memories of battle and war and blood tend to hold such things in a secret place. I know I have for over 40 years.

During the past 20 years I've tried several times to share some of the emotions and feelings held so deeply within for so long but whenever I have tried, I have always found myself holding back the "worst" of it. Partly I guess because I've never thought anyone could understand what's there and partly out of some sense of self defense because I knew deep in my heart that if I ever let it all out I might lose control emotionally.

I'm over 6 feet tall and weigh over 250 pounds now. I was born in the south where men are MEN and aren't supposed to show weakness. At least back in the 50's and 60's when I was a child and adolescent that was what was taught. For a man to cry would NOT have been understood or tolerated by the adults I knew. So the story I'm about to tell is difficult for me but I've decided to spill my guts here for a minute.

Tigerdog's comments told me about her husband's transfer to the "burn unit" in Japan after his medivac flight from Vietnam. It reminded me of some things I had long buried in my subconscious.

My wife and I were having breakfast this morning in a little cafe in our town and I began to tell her about the comments and that led to my opening a little of my memory. I told her about two burn victims I treated in Vietnam. One had been terribly burned by napalm and the other a white phosphorous grenade. I won't go into detail here but as I talked about those guys and my anger at the monsters in this administration who didn't answer their country's call but seem so willing to send other's children to fight, bleed and die, I was overcome with emotion. I was in the middle of a sentence about holding all this in for 40 years and how terribly I felt for these kids who are living that Hell every day in Iraq.

Suddenly I was crying. I had to stop talking. I got control back quickly because that's what I do. It only lasted a couple of minutes and I don't think many, if any, of the other patrons even knew it happened but my wife looked at me with a puzzled expression and asked, "Where did THAT come from?"

My God! I know what so many of these people will feel in 20, 30, 40 years. How many of them will wind up homeless or criminals or hermits whose souls are so damaged they can't function. How many of them will wind up with the self destructive impulses I've had all these years. How many of them will have to hear a friend or spouse or child ask them in 40 years: "Where did THAT come from?"

You Ain't Seen NOTHIN' Yet!

I've been blogging since my blogging began about the PTSD our brave American troops will suffer after this ridiculous and unnecessary war in Iraq. My first blog, "A War Story, was about the TET offensive in Vietnam and its effect on me then and after all these years. Here is "breaking" news about our government's inability to handle what the monsters in this administration have created:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070623/ap_on_he_me/coming_home_wounded

"Georgie," "Rummy," Dick "The Monster" Cheney, "Condi" and all the rest whose arrogance and incompetence have brought us to the breaking point as a country, will be revealed by history as the most inept administration in US history.

As investigations, subpoenas and (finally) congressional oversight are beginning to shine the light into the sewer where these demons reside, "We The People" are finally being given facts and truth which are commodoties that have been missing for the 6 years this group has "ruled" our nation.

I recently blogged about my experience with the VA medical apparatus and the Agent Orange related diabetes which many of us who were in Vietnam now suffer. I've had diabetes for over 5 years and didn't find out until last July that I was eligible for a small disability compensation because of my service. I applied in August in hopes that it would at least pay for the medication. Well, it's been 10 months and they tell me I will hear from them in 3 to 6 more months. I guess the hope is that we will die before the benefits are approved. It's a lot cheaper that way!

Last month our government in cooperation with Vietnam's regime released shocking information about the terrible deformities and deaths which were caused by Agent Orange. The worst place in Vietnam: Danang, where I served for a year. The air base there was where all the chemicals were mixed and spilled. Now, over 40 years later, they finally inform us of all the Vietnamese people who have suffered and are suffering because of our government's carelessness.

Nobody in my family ever had diabetes. I didn't think to connect my service in Vietnam when I was diagnosed. I was overweight and blamed myself and I still take responsibility for not taking better care of myself but I firmly believe now that my Vietnam service was a contributing factor.

My problems are minor compared to the soldiers and Marines who are serving in Iraq. There will be, as I have said before, new levels of PTSD diagnosed after this conflict.

Traumatic brain injury, amputation and too many deployments will haunt these people as long as they are alive. Their families will suffer untold damage. Their souls are damaged beyond repair. Their lives will never be what they could have been. And the sad truth is: "Georgie" and the Neo-Con monsters who invaded a sovereign nation because of their greed and arrogance are responsible for the deaths of over 3,500 brave men and women.

There are over 50,000 wounded now and the statistics of severity are astounding! "Georgie" is still demonstrating the arrogance and incompetence he has shown throughout his reign of TERROR by continuing this farce by sending more and more troops into harms way.

Impeachment is too good for him! Impeachment is too good for them!

Hell is too good for him!

Hell is too good for them!

I think if there is a GOD, SHE should place their eternal souls in a special section of eternal rest. Chained permanently in a vat of the blood they've spilled. And EVERY soul who has been sent to their final rest by these monsters should be able to come any time for eternity to look into their empty, souless eyes and shame them forever!
