Sometimes they make me dizzy!

I was reading a story this morning about the situation in Indonesia, ethnic cleansing... Muslims beheaded three teenaged girls because they were Christians and that caused conversation about their "mandatory" ID cards which last year required the listing of each person's religion. Now those cards are being used by every side to kill the "infidels" (Any other religion).

You know, Americans are notoriously naive about this ID card situation. In discussions I've had with others I constantly hear the tired old argument: "If I'm not doing anything wrong, why would I care?"

What idiocy! The Indonesia "model" should open some eyes. Unfortunately not many will hear about it.

The Republicans have been pushing for a "National ID" card for years. They want to be able to track EVERY American EVERY minute of EVERY day. "They" want to know EVERYTHING about YOU. "They" want to control EVERY aspect of EVERY American's life. "They" are, in the words of Alberto Gonzales' notorious assistant, "Loyal Bushies."

Wake up America! Civil liberties are important not only to those of us who are screaming about them. Civil liberties will be important to EVERY American when NO American has them any longer. And that is what "THEY" want.
