What A Surprise!

Gas prices dropping just before the election... I'm shocked!

Remember last year when we said things like: If gas prices reach $3 per gallon there will be a revolt among poor and they can't raise prices above $3 per gallon... It would guarantee their defeat at the polls.

Well, I remember a conversation with a very conservative Republican in Georgia last year. He argued that they would never raise prices above $2.50 per gallon. The people wouldn't stand for it. I saw him last week when prices dropped to "ONLY" $2.60 there and he was happy they were "so low" again.

Wow! Think about what they've accomplished in less than two years. "They" have managed to change a conservative mind from doubting $2.50 per gallon was possible to thinking $2.60 is a bargain.

Sometimes I used to wonder how people fell into cults. But I've witnessed these events and now believe that maybe Lincoln was wrong... Maybe "You can fool ALL the people ALL the time!"

My head is spinning like a cartoon character.. I'm getting dizzy again. Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are on the "Rove" warpath again scaring the Hell out of their base.

Wow! Pass the Kool Aid!

All Men Are Created Equal

Corruption and incompetence seems to be the order of the day in our political system.

I always told my son that our system of government was the worst on earth.. Except for all the rest. I still believe that. We can't blame our system for the inadequacy of "men".. That's the trouble with government, religion and everything else...

Whatever ridiculous rules are placed on humanity, they are invented and executed by "men." And our Declaration of Independence has one unfortunate entry which is absolutely true: All men ARE created equal.

Equally prone to corruption, equally gullible to Charlatans, equally arrogant, equally... Well, you get the picture.

As long as our laws whether political or religious are produced and defined by "men" we are doomed to repeat the same ridiculous errors over and over again.

And here we are... With George W. Bush as "The Puppet King" placed in power by the obscenity of wealth and arrogance. Sometimes I wish I weren't an Agnostic.... Then, at times like this when I need it so badly, I could say: God help us!

We, The People...

We, the people... In order to end this partisan bickering and hatred, must unite once again to form a more perfect union!

I was asked by a Republican friend to explain why she should vote for a Democrat in November. She said I gave many reasons to hate and disagree with failed Republican policy but, like the Democrats, never laid out a "Democratic" policy which should change her vote.

Well, it's difficult to argue with that and you all know how much I HATE it when "they" are correct about anything. (Just kidding)

I wish we could come together as a country again. I'm tired of the rhetoric of hate and such passionate disagreement along political lines. Those of us in the center politically have been shouted down by the Neo-Con monsters who have power on the right and the weak and passionless messages being sent by the mice on the left.

The monstrous juggernaut that is the Bush administration filled with the arrogance and greed that IS the Neo-Con agenda, has clanked along like a tank through the streets of Baghdad running over the fleeing "mice" which are the Democrats who have not had the courage of the kid in Tien An Men Square who stood and faced down that tank in his heroic effort to gain freedom and express his viewpoint so bravely.

I wish I could defend the Democrats more passionately. I wish they had demonstrated more courage against these incompetent and arrogant monsters. The few who have stood and attempted to block "Georgie's" tank have been demonized by the right and not supported by their own party.

I have blogged before about the potential need for a third party because of the horror which exists in our current political 2 party system.

I know that is a fantasy which can't be reality with the current lobbyist controlled environment but I know we need change.

So... Here's what I'm going to tell my friend: Let's forget the politics of "Party" loyalty. Let's work together as Americans to vote EVERY incumbent out in November. Wouldn't that send a message which needs to be sent? And look at the bright side... By the time the lobbyists completely corrupted the "new" Congress, maybe the world would change for the better. Maybe diplomacy would have a chance to work. If not, it would give the monsters some time to build more weapons to kill more people creating more enemies which would perpetuate the need for more Neo-Cons in the future.. And yada, yada, yada.. The beat goes on..

Scare the Hell out of them! Like the Republicans have tried (and succeeded thanks to the policies of their "guru" Karl Rove) to do in the past two election cycles.

I don't have all the answers. But I know we are treading on dangerous ground and the monsters in power MUST be stopped.

Let's get past partisan politics in November. Throw the all out! After all, it can't be any worse than where we are today.

Imagine!

Think about the amazing song by John Lennon being played softly in the United Nations of the future as diplomats discuss the solution to the world's calamities. Imagine!

Now think about Dueling Banjos playing from a speaker off stage. Two podiums stand in the emptiness with spotlights focused and security EVERYWHERE!

Out walk the two combatants: "Georgie" in a cowboy hat swaggering over to the podium with the American flag and a picture of Jesus suspended above. And President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad strolls to his place on the stage in his flowing robe and turbin. There beneath the Iranian flag and holding the Koran, he stares at our illustrious "Idiot in Chief" and the verbal battle begins.

Both have empty guns strapped to their hips. Symbolic of their threatening but cowardly souls. Like dueling Doublemint Twins they joust with empty rhetoric.

"My country will NEVER give up our "right" to pursue nuclear energy," the Iranian "Puppet King" throws a jab.

"Well, um, my country has GOD on our side and you WILL bow to our will," "Georgie" ducks and swings with a roundhouse right.

"Allah is GREAT!" Ahmadinejad shouts, looking skyward.

"You caint get to heaven without Jesus," "Georgie screams, mentally trying to avoid using the word "nukular."

Ah, it would be spectacular! I can't wait!

I'm going to go now to write the lyrics for my new song: "Babbling Idiots" which will be sung to the music playing on the guitar and banjo.

Yahoo! Ain't diplomacy fun!
