Regarding Chase and Madoff? No: regarding North Fork, Roger Stone, and Eliot Spitzer

Josh just posted this and says:
"But it does raise very serious questions about JP Morgan/Chase's behavior with Madoff. "

I think it raises questions about Roger Stone and his dirty tricks.

What was Stone doing in the loop on the Spitzer issue?

Seriously: how did it come to pass that someone's financial transactions, the subject of a Federal investigation and protected by confidentiality laws, came to be known by Roger Stone and passed by Stone to the FBI?

Here is what Josh seems to be saying: North Fork notified the Feds of the suspect transactions; the Feds wiretapped Spitzer; and somewhere in all of this, at some point, Stone passed that information on to the FBI.

Google easily turns up reports of Stone, quoted, claiming responsibility for bringing down Spitzer. Stone is very satisfied; and is comfortable proclaiming that his vendetta against Spitzer succeeded.

How did Roger Stone get information about a Federal investigation? Did Stone violate any law by having it? Did the person who gave it to Stone violate any law? Was Stone's source an employee of North Fork? Was it a Republican operative in Albany? Who told Stone?

Is the line from Stone's source to Stone a line that intersects a line to any part of the national Republican Party? If not a line, what degree of separation is there between Stone, his source, and the Republican Party attempting from a national level, to sabotage Democratic governors?

Everyone here remembers Don Siegelman, right?

Good Point. I would like to get to the bottom of this myself.
