BOYCOTT MURDOCH MEDIA
I remember reflecting that the gestalt of the country was becoming more accepting of racism during the Reagan administration. I was lambasted on bulletin boards for making such a statement, and told that *I* was the racist...
I read in Joshua's blog entry quoting "MA":
I'm done with Murdoch, and his channels, newspapers, movies, etc., and I hope many others feel that way as well. Enough is enough.
I agree completely. Enough is enough with Mr. Murdoch and his minions fomenting racism for profit. Let's list out the activities we should encourage all reasonable persons to take in order to send a hard message to Mr. Murdoch, his family, and his mouthpieces.
To get things started, I suggest that any of us with digital television tuners that permit restriction of channels use the feature to remove all FOX networks from our channel listings. No more Faux News, No More American Idol, No More 24. None of it. All of it lines the pockets of Mr. Murdoch.
Follow up with a letter/email/fax/call to NewsCorp informing them of your decision.
Examine the map of NewsCorps holdings and learn what other offerings you will need to boycott. No more MySpace, no WSJ, No Barron's.
How can we tell this man that we are as mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more?

Absolutely!
We also need to find ways to help break the spell of Murdoch's media. There are people out there who just don't realize that they are being lied to and manipulated.
There telling old people the health care reform will kill them. They know how to keep people down and afraid. I don't use cable TV anymore. I only hear about Murdoch people's garbage via other news sources calling them into question.
I don't think we can 'just' boycott, I think we also have to try to dispel their lies, myths, and manipulation.

Yez! Very well said! We need to talk in the ublic square to ensure people under that spell wake up. I've often called them Zom-Bushes. They are the un-dead who do not realize they have lost themselves and replaced it with blind loyalty to a party/agenda that does not serve them.

Sounds good to me.

went to the map of Newscorps holdings. Looks like I don't follow much of what they do anyway. Don't use myspace, don't read the post or WSJ or Smartmoney or Barrons, certainly don't watch Fox News.
Given such overt racism on their part, I can justify not watching anything at all produced by Fox Entertainment. I could probably boycott their movies.
If I had a choice to get rid of all Fox related programming on cable, if I could opt out, I would do so in a heart beat.

To top off his mischief making in American politics and society isn't Murdoch a foreign national? Australian, I believe.

Why just Murdock? The whole stinking MSM has no other interest besides maintaining the status quo.
Why do you think we hear nothing else from them except the same old ledes about how reform is stalled and, oh, look over there at that racial sideshow!
And it is getting increasingly clear that Josh and Joan Walsh and Arianna have no greater interest that licking those boots so they can appear on cable news to make mewling noises of mild progressive dissent.
What good is interactive media if it does nothing but let the corporate media set the agenda.
