I certainly wish you well.

By the way, how do you manage to always get your posts recommended to the top of the heap? I notice you have a lot of followers. Did you get that following just by writing good posts or did you organize a system of helping recommend each others' posts up? I am not criticizing you - I'd just like to know how it's done.

What a lot of huffing and puffing. Dems have 60 votes in the Senate, 70% approval and an opposition party with its dick stuck in its zipper - and they still act like they're rolling a boulder up a hill. Who, exactly, are these powerful lobbyists standing in the way of reform? And where do they get their power from? EXPOSE THEM. They want to fight against what we all know is the in the public interest? Tear off their toupees of respectability and reveal them for what they are. It's good that Obama is raising the ante - let the scumbags know that the longer they delay, the more progressive the bill will become. They want to fight on the side of Evil? Make 'em show the devil's flag.

Once again I'm scratching my head at Obama's reluctance to to call a spade a spade. He's got a 65% approval rating; he's got a big majority in both houses of Congress; the American people favor a public option. So what is this mouse he's so afraid of that he can't just smack it with a broom? Obviously there are a handful of Democratic senators who are doing the bidding of the insurance companies and the medical lobby - why not simply out them? Why not say to Kent Conrad, "You cross me on this one, buddy, and you and the insurance companies are on your own in the primary." Why not tell Diane Feinstein that if she can't see her way to supporting a public option Obama's gonna have a hard time finding the funds to bail out her bankrupt state? Why, when it comes to something that's so obviously in the public interest is he so dainty in his advocacy - yet when trillions are requested for Wall Street banks, he's willing to bite the bullet? Can somebody please explain this reluctance to play hardball politics from Mr. Chicago Politics?

This is also very smart from a security point of view. Right now, all our eggs are in the basket of air travel.
For the first time, someone who's work and ideas I'm familiar with is going to be in a position of real influence. Someone who understands the struggles of regular people. Not some Clinton re-tread, not some Bush hack, but somebody who really knows what she's doing and who's heart is in the right place. Someone I'm actually sure is not corrupt.

This is the most heartening thing I've come across since election night.
