well, so far I see "Billy" Clinton has been to the WH once, Hillary twice. Bill Ayers has been there twice OH NOEZ a domestic terrorist is in the WH as much as the secretary of state! Cass Sunstien of the torture apologist fame has been there 9 times.

132 of 481, or 27% were not there to see a specific person. The top visitees were , POTUS (98), FLOTUS (1), PO&FLOTUS (9), VPOTUS (3), Office Visitors (69), Tina Chen (22), Max Doebler (19), Larry Summers (13), Rahm Emanuel (11), Valerie Jarrett (9). The three people to visit Biden were Franken, Daschle, and Kim Gandy.

The top visitors were William Smith (27), Andrew Stern (21), John Podesta (17), Kim Gandy (15), William White (13), Tom Daschle (10), Cass Sunstein, Michael Moore, and Nancy Keenan (8), David Strauss, Timothy Ryan, David Oreilly, Edward Kennedy, Jeffrey Jones, Paul Smith, Philip Lamarche, Richard Trumka, Ralph Smith, Risala Vizomourey, and Steve Gunderson (7), James Dimon, Jesse Jackson, and John Sullivan (6), Alan Greenspan, Anthony Podesta, Edward Yingling, John Roberts, Linda Lipsen, William Graham, Dick Durbin, Michael Jordan and Stephen Williams (5), ... Oprah (2)

There was a mayor's meeting with the POTUS on 2/20 with 3 mayors, Richard Daley (Chicago), Mark Mallory (Cincinatti) and Bill White (Houston).

The description of the visit is blank in 56% of records. Tours is the top desription by far with over 65 or 14%. Bank CEO meeting (9), Speech (8), Congressional Luau (15), then a bunch of twosies and onsies, like Poetry Reading (2), Super Bowl Party (2), St. Patty's Day (6), Cocktail Party (3).

For the 98 meetings with POTUS, the top descriptions: Blank (16), Meeting with Bank CEOs (9), Speech (8), Event around SCOTUS, and St. Patrick's Reception Guests (6), Announcement of Flagship Initiative to Guarantee Loans to Small Business, Meeting ref:Housing, Mayor Meeting, and OPL Coctail Party (3), the rest are ones and twos.

Where were these 481 meetings? Six in the Oval Office, 110 West Wing, 74 Residence, 48 Eastroom, 19 Southlawn.

I just crashed my Open Office messing with my pivot tables, so that's all for now.

Overall, this doesn't tell ya much, transparency is sometimes just a word. I don't see any real value to the American people of producing this list. It's hard to believe this is a complete list, because certainly Rahm was in the meetings with POTUS, and Axlerod too, and surely the VP, but you can't tell.

It was nice to see the Union Presidents in the WH so much, maybe they can get EFCA passed with cardcheck. I doubt it.

As the employer of the President - we after all are the ones who pay their salaries - I want a much more detailed accounting of what he is doing on my time. I have to provide much more information about what projects I am working on, and what progress I made, what steps are next, and what the due dates are need to be approved.

Why is it that my employees have much better health insurance than me, again??? Oh well, have a great OPL Cocktail party -like night everybody on TPM. Wear a costume if you are cool.

I am going to wear a "transparent" costume, you know one with a mask, body suit, burka, cape, and jacket with a hood.

"A victory for Democrats and the American People"

what a bunch of bullshit

we will have forced 40 million people to pay greedy Corporatons for poor coverage that they can't afford, along with more taxpayer money going to "subsidize" the greedy Corporations.

The public option will only be available to certain people, (not people with crappy insurance from their job), and won't go into effect until 5 years after the 5 year triggers. The triggers are designed to never be met, and will have no enforcement mechanism. So basically, nothing will change for 10 years, and after another 180,000 people have died from not being able to afford healthcare, we will have nothing much to show.

But Obama's backroom deals with Phrma will let them continue to gouge the American People, and the Health Insurance Monopolies will have 10 years to get more money, to buy more politicians.

So either you are ignorant, don't really care, or you work for Blue Cross. If you see this as a win-win.

This is EPIC FAIL for Democrats, especially Obama - who will yet again cave to the minority party, and bow to his corporate masters that he campaigned SPECIFICALLY against.

I don't see them as any different than the people who still approved of Bush at the end, the 25 percenters. They just want their team to win, and are happy to be part of the cult of personality. Their main concern is to be winning, not any actual policy goals, or outcomes. They are the political lightweights, the people who watch TV more than they read.

They are the folks who subscribe to People magazine, and cluck over how nice Michelle's dress looks, and how cute J-Lo's kids are.

Trusting politicians should be the very definition of stupid.

lol

you gave Obama $2,000? roflmao! I hope this was before it was obvious that it was going to be a blowout. I really hope it was before Nate Silver was saying 98%... because that is a LOT of money for somebody who doesn't make enough to pay Federal taxes.

No wonder you reflexively defend Obama, you don't want to admit to yourself that you've been played for all that dough.

I'm sure the President will read it himself, and then change his mind. The next time Obama has a backroom meeting with big Pharma, undercutting congress, and the American (working poor) people, he will remember your letter, and actually do what is right, instead of what his corporate masters order.

naive much?

I gave the dude some money, and made calls, but I have long since figured out that he is not on our side in the class war. At least, I tell myself, he IS better than McCain, surely. But that is small consolation to me.

Obama is using your money to build support for continuing to bomb and torture the shit out of brown people on the other side of the world, face it. He is redistributing wealth upwards, and you gave him 2K VOLUNTARILY??? How very generous.

After Obama sells you out on war (4evah!), torture (it's OK), healthcare (preserve for profit), energy (clean coal), financial policy (give Goldman your money), will you finally be able to admit your mistake?

In this two party system, you don't have great choices, but fer godsakes you need to call a spade a spade. It is part of growing up.

Sometimes it is best to know when to fold 'em, when to cut your losses. Or you can hang on to antiquated ideals that have been smashed forever, ignorance is bliss. Do you really think he cares about you and your $2K? I think if Obama read that, he would have a good chuckle, then he would forward it to Summers and Geithner, and they would all have a good laugh together.

my shirts are at the bottom of the drawer now, i may wear them to paint or something in the future. The whole hero worship, cult of personality sort of thing freaks me out. It is not about people, it is about ideas and effective policies "in pursuit of a more perfect union"

i can't really get all excited for Obama's plan to give away massive gifts to big Pharma for a plan that won't even come into effect for four years. Even after the four years, I won't be able to join the public plan (if there is one, which I highly doubt) if I have insurance from my job.

hard to get excited for bi-partisan hyper timid crap. My money goes to Act Blue and real progressives, not corporatist pro-torture posers.

to know shame, you must have some values, and the ability of introspection - so it is not all a bad thing. Shame can be a motivator, if the shame is for the right reasons.

I feel ashamed of the polarization of wealth in this country, where my Jewish lessons in tzedakah give me a foundation in liberalism. I don't think that when I was born I deserved my college-grad, middle class parents anymore than my best friend deserved a mentally ill, drug addicted single mom.

When I walk around my neighborhood, I am ashamed that we have beautiful potted plants maintained by the neighborhood, and right across the street are people without jobs, food, homes or a change of clothes.

It disgusts me to see the priorities of this selfish country. I despise Republicans b/c they honestly think they are better and more important, more deserving than others, and they would rather take care of flowers than people.

When arguing for socialized Healthcare, I invoke the fire dept, and ask: are houses more important than the people in them?

"Needless to say, this goes directly against President Obama's efforts to contain costs by p*romoting good medicine. "

Dean, this sentence doesn't make a bit of sense, the "this" is President Obama's efforts.

So your sentence says:

Obama's efforts go directly against Obama's efforts.

I think you are trying to decieve us, or are incredibly naive to not get that what Obama says to the public, and his backroom dealings are often complete opposites.

This follows the trends of "transparency" "anti-War" "NAFTA" "telecom immunity" "rule of law" etc.

Just face it - Obama doesn't want healthcare for all, he wants to ensure the profit stays in the medicine field. Obama has never really pushed for what he says in public. Did you ever wonder how Obama got all the fawning press coverage and was even considered "electable"?

Obviously he had made promises to the power players that he wouldn't really rock the boat at all, he would just talk about it. I'm sure he convinced the big money powers that be that he would be on thier side, and not on the side of the middle class, and poor.

Otherwise GE wouldn't allow Chris Matthews to get chills up his legs. Just like they muzzled Olberman re: Fox News and OReilly.

The fix is in, Obama is not a liberal, not even close, he is a corporatist plain and simple. Actions speak louder than all of his soaring rhetoric - and all Obama does is cave in to Republicans/Corporations and pass half-ass bullshit bills that don't solve the problems we absolutely know how to solve - and would have the votes to if Obama wanted.
