I'm kinda hopin' for Palin/Bachmann ticket. Now there's a pair for the Whig(gedout)Party that would be sure to enlist mulititudes of the conservative, wah wah, base!

The FBI says unequivocally that they are not investigating her. It sounded pretty definite. Is the FBI the only enforcement agency that could be looking into this? What is the crime; embezzlement, tax evasion, co-mingling funds, bribery? Surely the State of Alaska would have some jurisdiction.

I have read since I posted this that it is highly unusual for someone in the FBI (on the 4th of July, a Saturday) to make such a strong statement for the entire agency. There is some doubt that the story is corroborated, and I am wondering about it myself. How likely is it that they guy answering the phones on a Saturday has the scoop on this? Can he/she really say that there is no agent snooping around Wasilla records?
