When asked why he robbed banks, Willie Sutton simply replied, "Because that's where the money is." Same reason when it comes to taxing the top 2%. Not only is that where the money is, it's the only place left where the money is.
I would love to see an aggressive carbon tax plus a 49% marginal tax on the the top 1% of earners until the budget has been out of deficit and into surplus for at least 5 straight years and had paid down 90% of the then existing national debt. If that takes 20 years, so be it.
Take that all you "small business owners" like Paris Hilton and Rush Limbaugh.

Now this is the President we have been waiting for. A President who actually keeps his campaign promises. Think of all the nattering nabobs over the last few months who kept telling us: "16 months to get out of Iraq? He'll get rolled by Petraeus and we'll leave in 3 years maybe; he can't close Guantanamo, he'll be just like Bush; no way he does major healthcare reform or energy policy this year, Bush has put him into too big a hole; he'll have to scale way back on his promises; he'll be another typical politician".
President Obama = Typical Politician? NOT!
You gotta love this guy. He charts his own path and just keeps going. what a fascinating 4 years (and hopefully 8 years) we have ahead of us!

You gotta love an election system that says if you vote early by absentee ballot, but die before election day, your vote doesn't count, but only if the election officials notice.
On the other hand if you vote early by absentee ballot then later decide to actually vote again in person on election day, no problem. You have broken no laws. Maybe the election people will notice, maybe not.
Oh, and if you are a candidate or a voter and you don't like the result, just file suit and appeal whatever the decision is and the state will patiently refuse to declare a winner until you are completely satisfied with the result.
That's just a snippet of what kind of cockamamie nonsense is going on up north there in Paul Bunyan land. They get up each morning and delude themselves into thinking it's all about being fair. This is the land of goody two shoes and Shirley Temple. Puhleeeeeze!!!!
I never thought I'd actually miss punch cards and hanging chads.
