Rumormongers Give Us A Break!!!
So we are supposed to believe that a campaign that had virtually no leaks for 22 months is suddenly leaking like crazy? Gates is staying/Gates is going. Kerry for Secretary of State/Kerry says he's talked to nobody. Gitmo will close immediately/Obama may condone some torture. He's hiring too many Clinton people/He needs to keep more Bush people. He wants Lieberman to stay/he secretly wants hin out.
What a collective crock of bullshit! I wish the bulk of the progressive blogosphere would be a little more reticent in accepting or regurgitating every item of ridiculous speculation on every move the Obama transition team is making or contemplating.
Here's a novel thought: How about being a little patient and see what Obama actually does? Until proven otherwise, Obama is a fucking political genius. Why is that so hard to accept?

From Seth Walls at HuffPost:
"The fact that disinformation is creeping out is not terribly surprising. With literally thousands of journalists attempting to ferret out snippets of news from what appears to be a highly disciplined and tight-lipped transition team, half-true rumors and innuendo can be easily magnified beyond their importance."
Thanks for that Seth, somebody with a brain.

Agreed and strongly rec'd. I have found the behavior of many progressives in the blogosphere (including many here) to be just ridiculous. With supporters like this, who needs enemies? I mean really, are we just so accustomed to bitching and whining that we don't know how to stop? Do we need a twelve step program? We saw this during the FISA debate. We on the left demand perfection from our candidate and we're never fucking happy. Even when we win 365 electoral votes and 53% of the popular vote, still not happy.

Co-fucking-sign.
I mean, honestly, can people not see what complete asses they are making of themselves when they criticize Obama for actions he hasn't actually taken but that that we heard this one guy say that another person who won't tell us his name said that he has on very good authority that Obama might well be considering taking? Christ, its like being back in damn high school.

Suggesting that something may happen is not news. It is speculation. There are 24 hours in a day and we waste too much time talking about what might happen. George Bush just took a massive dump on this country with a bunch of executive orders allowing miners to block streams with their waste, among other things. That needs to be reported. It happened. What could happen is not news, it's gossip.

Add my name to the list. Enough with the preemptive hand-wringing.

Amen!
No circular firing squad need apply!
It has only been nine days and the left is now sounding as paranoid as the right. I think we should cut Obama's team some slack on judgment and recognize that the rumor mill has everything to do with filling up a page and little to do with real decisions. We should be just as suspicious of this propaganda as we were of the pre-election variety. A lot of this is being peddled by Repubs and a lot of it is just self-promotion coupled with speculation and then secondary reporting on the speculation. Leave that stuff to Drudge! Gossip is not our game!
