Here's an idea. With all the talk about how Barack needs to go either very progressive or tack toward the middle (whatever that is) how about this instead:
Why doesn't he just pass the very agenda he ran on, you know like, keep his word to the people who voted for him?
Why do all these pundits think that a guy who was elected with the clearest mandate since Ronald Reagan needs anybody's advice on how to proceed? It isn't that hard.
Is there some explanation for the voter turnout in California (as well as the crazy drop in turnout for Alaska (see http://shannynmoore.wordpress.com/2008/11/06/stolen-election-in-alaska/)?
I went to SOS for California and they say that 10,348,698 votes for Presiddent have been counted with 522,076 still to be counted for a total of 10,870,774.
CNN has the total presidential vote for the 2004 election at 12,400,499.
That would be a drop of 12% from 2004 to 2008. Is that possible? Does anybody have any better information on this
Why fight it? All the know-it-all talking heads think this is still (or ever was) a "center right" country. So just agree with them, and pass everything (Obama's Tax, Health Care and Renewable Energy Plans, Stem Cell Research, Card Check, Fairness Doctrine, Iraq Withdrawal, Environmental Protections, etc.) thatyou fully intended to pass anyway.
And when those bonehead talking heads say, "Hey, what about center right?" respond, "That IS center right. Where the hell have you been? Don't MAKE me go progressive on your ass!"

Latest CNN tally has Obama 62,974,502 McCain 55,772,197. My calculator says that's almost exactly 53-47. I am guessing the final tally will closer to 54-46. What do you think?
Hpw ironic that Real Clear Politics decides not to use the R2000/Daily Kos in their poll average because they called it partisan, and its the only major daily polling outfit (not including the laughable IBD/TIPP) that showed a closing of the gap into the end:O+4 Sat and Sun), albeit with Obama still at 50%+.
So his one day numbers yesterday (Drudge loved it) had McCain+1 but today's one day number is Obama back to +10? whatthefu?? What an incredibly fickle populace!
Meanwhile back in reality-ville, Rasmussen has Obama at 50-52% for the 38th straight day!
