What does the so called surge guarantee?

More dead American soliders? Yes or no?

More wounded American soldiers? Yes or no?

More hard earned tax payer dollars spent in Iraq? Yes or no?

An end to Al Qaeda in Iraq? Yes or no?

An end to the insurgency in Iraq? Yes or no?

An end to the sectarian strife in Iraq? Yes or no?

A sustainable democratic Iraq? Yes or no?

I suspect, you’ll say yes to 1st three items, more dead Americans, more wounded Americans, more tax payer dollars spent.

I also suspect you can’t tell me this surge will end our problems in Iraq, the last four items on the list.

Your “progress” is simple. More American soldiers will create some small success, but our objectives are still not assured.

You should know that no amount of American soldiers can guarantee that the factions in Iraq will come together.

How long must the USA spend blood and treasure in Iraq for such nebulous goals.

I understand that American soldiers (GI’s as I call them) will be called up on to fight, be wounded, and even die for a variety of reasons.

Often we say they are fighting for our national security, we often say they fighting for our country, most often they fight and die for the welfare of their fellow soldiers.

The worst reason to ask them to fight and die is for the ego of the Commander In Chief.

I hope you have not overlooked this fact.

Is this really the choice you would make to fight the international war on jihad, if you and the rest of DOD the were free to make an unfettered choice?

So many talking heads and pundits worry about proposed Decmocratic tax hikes, they never say a word about the Bush/Right Wing tax hikes.

These tax hikes by Bush and his right wing pals are not proposed, they are written into law.

Do you remember Jan 2001? For the 1st time since 1955, the right wing took control of the House, the Senate, and the White House.

The unemployment rate was 4.2%.

We were not involved in a seemingly endless war in Iraq.

Thank God that Bush and his right wing minions fixed all that.

We have massive deficits, despite Bush’s assurance that our deficits will be small and of short duration.

The unemployment rate is 4.6%, almost a 10% increase. A sure sign of a robust economy, right?

The WTC? Well, it’s now called ground zero. A grave for almost 3000 Americans, some success.

Iraq? Well bush said we prevailed in Iraq over 4 years ago. But still hope the surge will work.

Total, utter failure.

Would it be too much to ask that every time some talking head shows up in the media crying about we need lower tax rates, that they tell us how much they make and how these "needed" tax cuts will increase their income?

When general shinseki said we needed "several hundred thousnad" troops to pacify Iraq, did you support him.

when the CIC ordered the invasion of Iraq with an undermanned force, did you register a complaint?

when former generals said we should no have more forces in Iraq, did you register a complaint?

Did you get your job cause your vies agreed with the president?

I believed when the bush administration told me:

1) it's a cake walk

2) we'll be greeted as liberators

3) it will take no longer than 6 months

4) in the battle of Iraq, we have prevailed

5) we cannot wait for the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud.

So, I may believe the story Petraeus tells, but I've been fooled before.

Well, I knew the stock market was in a world of hurt last week thanks to watching the Fox so called stock experts.

Despite the huge DOW run up in 2007, the Fox guys were talking about "dow 18K".

Let me give you a simple bit of a market to which you should pay attention.

If the market is designated a market as "you cant' lose", run like scaled dawg.

From the tulips in Amseterdam, to the the stocks of the 1990's, to the houses of the early 2000's. RUN

If it goes up in a crazy manner, expect it to go down the same way.

The key is to figure out when to bail. Let's let the media experts or the money boys try to tell us when this happens.

Most have poor records.

But, the basic rule does not change, from the tulips to the stock to the houses. If it's too good to be true, it just may be false.
