I have to slightly disagree that he needs to find all new faces. It's going to be rather difficult to find qualified Democrats and Republicans that know the system to put into government office positions that did not work under Clinton or Bush 1 or 2. It would be very irresponsible to nominate a bunch of people with no governmental experience, and those are pretty much the only Presidents they could have gotten it under at the federal level. Maybe he could expand outward to state level people, but I think it would be off the mark for a responsible President to not go after the best people with the most experience. Hopefully he will also put in some new faces, but at lower levels. I do agree with Hillary at Health though, although I don't know that I believe that she would retire as a Senator for such a low post.

Good points there. Admittedly I was just passing a theory for what might be going on backroom for what does appear to be a discredation campaign going on against Senator Reid. Other possible option there being that the press wants it to look like Obama is torpedoing Reid on purpose to make Obama look bad, or some combination of making them both look bad. Honestly, you NEVER hear a lot of support being made for Majority Leader Reid, just a LOT of negativity. I have the feeling they want to replace him, or someone is making it look as such.

If the Democratic Party of Tennessee puts a convicted felon on the ballot I'm not going to vote for him, regardless of what I expect to happen in a runoff or appointment. The fact that Republicans would decide they should vote for a party that would put a man who was just convicted of 7 felonies on the ballot says something for their "values" voters.

I think you could chalk that up to Alexander being a incumbent and reasonably popular, not anything out of the ordinary about the Obama vote. My guess there is that Alexander just pulled more D votes than Obama could pull R votes. I think exit polls showed 95% rate of Republican votes for McCain statewide and about a 20% Democrat for McCain. Dems in TN tend to vote both parties, Republicans on the other hand, not so much.

We should have issued a draft into the active military before we backdoor drafted our college students who were told they would never be deployed overseas.

It is a outrage that these young men and women were lied to and sent off to die without being treated like any other member of our countries' general population. Our leaders should be ashamed of themselves.
