How to deal with the Lieberman Question

Rather than kick Joe Lieberman out of the Democratic party, why not offer him the job of Director of the EPA?  He's always been on the right side on environmental issues and his portfolio at the EPA would preclude him from speaking out on Obama's foreign policy.  Seems like a win/win situation to me.

My email to Sara Palin

The Washington Post published Sara Palin's personal yahoo email address. You know, the one that she's been using to conduct state business with so that she could skirt those pesky FOI requests? Well, anyway, I decided to ask Governor Palin a question. I recommend that any concerned citizen also send her a note.  Here's my note...

Dear Governor Palin

I'd like to know how to get my village 27 million in earmarks. Do I have to chair a Senator's corrupt 527? If so, how can I go about this? Does it have to be the chair of the Senate Appropriations committee? Or will any corrupt Senator do?

sincerely,

A concerned American.

McCain's 50 dollar an hour lettuce-picking job offer

I just came across this 2 year old You Tube post.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpB9OoOU02M

How did this get missed?  How did one of the GOP campaigns not hammer McSame endlessly for this?  Will the Obama campaign get wind of this?

Here's a newspaper article that summarizes the incident.

Of course, when the union workers tried to take McLiar up on his offer, McWelcher turned tail and left without speaking to the workers.

Maybe this explains why in John McCain's fantasy world 5 million a year is the baseline income for rich people.  I mean if poor lettuce pickers are pulling down 50 bucks an hour on Planet McCain, then I'm guessing a gas station cashier is making 60 an hour?  And a guy working the line at GM is banking 400 an hour?

Yes! Hillary CAN win

Thanks to the Stephanie Miller show for this bit of levity.

McCain flip flops on NCAA gambling

<p>Another day, another McCain flip flop.  This time it is on the issue of gambling on college athletics.  You see, back in 2001, it was John McCain who led the failed charge to ban all legal gambling on college athletics.  At the time, McCain used his battle against the Nevada casino interests as a talking point to illustrate the the corrupting influence of money in politics.

<blockquote>''<b>We're up against millions and millions, and perhaps tens of millions, of dollars in campaign contributions,'' Senator McCain, an Arizona Republican, said in an interview about the gambling bill. ''It's no more complicated than that. This is a graphic example of the influence of big money in American politics.''</b>

So now fast forward to 2008.   McCain is running for President and is trying to generate the biggest possible mailing list.  So what does John McCain do?  He runs an NCAA Tournament Bracket contest, complete with prizes ON HIS CAMPAIGN WEBSITE.

<p><a href="http://www.johnmccain.com/brackets/Initial.htm">McCain Basketball Brackets</a>

<p>No seriously, I can't make this stuff up.  And no, this isn't the first time.  According to the New York Times, McCain also ran a bracket contest LAST YEAR.

<p><a href="http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/17/mccains-march-madness/">McCain’s March Madness</a>

I know this hardly rises to the level of his flop flops on say, the Bush tax cuts or Jerry Falwell's metamorphosis from "Agent of intolerance" to McCain BFF.  But this is yet another piece of the puzzle that illustrates just how calculating and utterly devoid of principle John McCain has become in his quest for the White House.
