300 Dead in Nigerian Riots...
And this article
is buried low on the New York Times homepage. This weekend's horrifying
terrorist attacks in India received appropriate media coverage. Why is
an Indian life more significant than a Nigerian life?

India is more "connected" and thus more accessible to the worldwide press. I don't think I'd read too much beyond that into things.

I think thats a good explanation for why the Indian terrorist attacks got so much more press than the Nigerian riots. But I don't think I was reading too much into it.
If a black man and a white man are killed in the same night, is it justified that the police give more attention to the white man's murder because white men are more "connected"?
The correlation isn't perfect, but I think the reasoning is similar.

I think that's a rather outdated sort of comment to make in this day and age, but then, perhaps I'm just too lighthearted and optimistic.
