If you do the calculations, what they are saying is that while among the 931 registered voters, Obama is up by 10% (47-37) but among the 800 "likely" voters in this pool he's up by 1% (44-43) meaning that 65% of the "unlikely" voters (that extra 131) are Obama supporters. If you believe that you're about as smart as Sarah Palin on foreign policy. Furthermore, calculating again, its saying that ALL of McCain's supporters are likely voters.

I heard something that I think aptly describes what the Palin pick was for John McCain. She was, quite simply, a shot of adrenalin or steroids. McCain's campaign, after the absolutely stunning spectacle of the Dem Convention, was teetering on the edge of absolute implosion after constant mixed messaging and lack of discipline. She was a shot of steroids, like an athlete in sports trying to get an edge, And it worked, for a while. Thing with steroids is, unless you keep taking it, eventually your body will fall back to its natural level of performance. Worse yet, if the athlete becomes too dependent, and stops, the body withdraws and is worse off than it was before. See: McCain/Palin

Lets be real, people in small towns, like people in cities, or people of a particular ethnic group or race, or religion..DO CLING to those things that are familiar and reassuring to them in hard times (whether its the current economic situation, family tragedy etc.) That is what Obama meant and its true. Republicans and the media have latched on to the WORDS that were used ("cling") and completely lost the meaning. It is why when 9/11 occurred we all clung to each other as Americans and to our nationality which had the effect of both comforting us and creating this "us against the world" bellicosity that resulted in a blind march to war and anti-Muslim behavior. Its human nature. I say all this because I am tired of people bringing back that comment as a justification for voting against Obama, or for stupid statements like this one.
