OK, so you've figured out I'm a huge boxing fan. So this is about a brilliant boxing analogy that can be drawn to the upcoming general election?

Obama represents former world heavyweight boxing champion, "Real Deal" Evander Holyfield. Holyfield had just gone through three grueling, drag-out fights with former champ, Riddick "Big Daddy" Bowe, as represented by Hillary Clinton. All the while "Iron" Mike Tyson, as represented by John McCain, has been sitting in jail stemming from a rape conviction. Well Mike Tyson (McCain) eventually gets out of jail. And he immediately starts fighting bums. He gets quick first-round knockouts. And the press quickly touts that "Iron" Mike Tyson/McCain "is back!"

Yet, what folks don't realize is, while "Iron" Mike Tyson/McCain was sitting in jail ostensibly getting "soft" -- Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe (Obama and Clinton) have been engaged in an all-out war.

So when Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield eventually do meet in the ring, one is battle scarred and bruised, but he's in tip top fighting condition. The other is heralded by the media as a formidable beast, but in reality he is a mere shell of his former athletic self.

So what happens in the actual fight? Evander Holyfield wins the fight by a vicious TKO in the 11 round over Mike Tyson-- and goes on to become the most heralded heavyweight boxing champion of the last two decades.

And if the analogy holds true, Barack Obama will win in a methodical, late-round stoppage over John McCain.

One thing though .. if there's a rematch, Obama has to make sure to protect those big ears.

Hillary As VP Would Be A Disaster!

It makes me nervous that the Democratic Party is pushing the concept of a "dream ticket" again. And since Barack Obama will reach the vaunted 2025 delegate count within weeks, he should not be made to compromise in any fashion on HIS choice of VP.

It's very interesting that recently when Ted Kennedy simply stated that he didn't think it was a "good idea" having Hillary as VP, Rahm Emanual slammed him in the press. He said, "...I don't know how the hell he comes off saying that". Something is underfoot to force Obama to take Hillary on as VP within the Democratic party. It's almost like there's a campaign being waged.

To be blunt about it, Hillary does not deserve to be on the ticket. She has run a dishonorable campaign. There is still a lot of drama within her camp. She has hit Obama below the belt many times.

Imagine her as VP in an Obama administration. He is attempting to change Washington, to prioritize the America people. But Hillary would keep taking the largest amount of lobbyist contributions of any congressperson?. In effect she would still be obligated to serve their interests. And this will quickly lead to a huge fissure between her and Obama.

An Obama/Hillary ticket is a disaster in the making. And it must be opposed at all costs.

If Hillary Makes Threats On Her Way Out The Door ... This Is What Obama Should Say

The Clinton's are multi millionaires 100 times over.

It is elitist and juvenile for the Clintons to expect other people to pay their debts.

Clinton spent millions of dollars trying to destroy Obama. Why should that behavior be rewarded?

Furthermore, Hillary has the arrogance to campaign when there's no way she can win, and further accrue additional debt?

Clinton is done and needs to bounce. If she makes threats on her way out the door, Obama should send her packing and tell her, "Let the door hit ya' where the good Lord split ya'!"

If Hillary's base starts acting up, all Obama has to say to Hillary's middle-aged white women supporters is, "Look, if you like Roe V Wade -- for you or your daughters -- and you know whats good for you, you better vote for me. Because it's history if John McCain gets in. Hear me? HISTORY!"

Obama should say to white racists, "White racists, this country was run for the last several decades by smiling white folks just like you. And those smiling white folks did not hesitate to ship millions of YOUR jobs overseas when it served their immediate interests. So if you want a job, you better vote for this Black dude. Because McCain is not giving out any jobs that I know of. Believe that shit."

As an ardent Obama supporter, this notion is absolutely ludicrous to me. (And I definitely agree with Josh's earlier post on TPM about this topic.) I have contributed to Obama's campaign on at least four separate occasions. And it just sickens me that my hard earned money would be used to pay off Clinton's debts as a carrot to get her to stop running her race.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are multi-millionaires! And they have the latitude to make millions more after the elections are over. (Seriously, Hilary can just write another book about her woeful bid for the presidency!) Why should regular everyday Americans have our monies siphoned into Clinton coffers? Especially after the Clintons have run such a racially polarizing, manipulative, ugly and destructive campaign?

Mr Obama, I beseech you, don't use our money to pay off Clinton's debts. If you do, it will become a MAJOR issue for some of your supporters. Let Hillary's campaign sputter itself out. If Hillary gets ugly again, let the super delegates step in to end it. For all practical purposes, you are the presumptive nominee. If you ran your campaign on not catering to Washington's "old style" politics, then don't deign yourself to reward the Clinton's by using OUR money to pay THEIR debts. After all, the Clinton's ran up those debts trying to destroy YOUR campaign. We gave you money, in part to counter that. It is NOT your responsibility -- nor ours -- to pay them off.
