Don't conflate the reader blogs with the Cafe articles. I'm talking about wackos in the reader blogs, their threads and the constant, yammer of mindless apes in the main threads every time someone like Greg Sergeant trashes McCain.

I've said for a long time that the solution to the reader blog space is to enable the bloggers to moderated comments on their own blogs. I'm not going to go down the rat hole of endless what ifs on that.

It all comes down to quality. Bloggers who stimulate discussion and have interesting comment threads will survive. Bloggers who abuse the moderation privilege will fall by the wayside.

Do I really believe the site is overrun by wackos? You bet I do.

As you can tell by my comments on the latest blog devoted to trashing me, I'm not very interested in sticking around.
