A couple things I don't understand...

1. Why isn't the government itself in charge of registering voters? The IRS doesn't send volunteers to ask citizens to register to pay taxes, right? If the govt. WANTED more voters, we'd HAVE more voters. The govt. usually gets whatever it wants... why not voters?

2. If any modern self-service gas pump can register and record a transaction accurately, AND give me a printed paper receipt, why can't a voting machine? Even Republicans (Diebold) can make bank machines that are fairly reliable... they can count MONEY, why so hard for them to count VOTES?

3. Most puzzling, why would anyone even CONSIDER voting for John McCain?
