Umm because we nor anybody knows that it is yet. Right now we have a plane crash that the NTSB has not finished investigating. As a pilot the very last thing you want or should do is speculate about what happened before you actually know.
Just because he was a pilot with a lot of hours does not mean he didn't make a mistake or the plane didn't have a legit. mechanical problem. I just had a friend die a few days ago with a 1000s of hours as a pilot because he made a mistake when turning final. The reality of flying, shit happens.
I understand. However, the coincidence certainly merits discussion.
His attorney had warned that he needed protection. He was about to testify. The timing of his death is awfully convenient for many.
