Alaska and Wasilla are examples of why we are a divided nation. Take a look at the electoral map and notice how the red states border each other. Social values are infectious and people tend to mirror the views of their neighbors. I have been to Alaska several times and there are a few rational folks there. The vast majority I encounter are freaky even by lower 48 standards. I mean Alaska is another universe even by deep South standards.
