May I Get You Something?
I need to open up tonight. My living room full of cobwebs, dust and memories. My sofa which needs, frankly, a butt or three upon it. My pillows that need fluffing and a generous hug or two. Your words in my ear, the sound of laughter in the air. Music floating like cottonballs. Crickets in the background, a sweet southern breeze wafting through and a thunderstorm threatening in the distance. I need friends who bring goodies and ideas, gossip and smiles. The front door is wide open to all - hi there, come on in.
It's late, I know. But whenever you wander in, please know that you're welcome to speak your mind or keep your silence. I want nothing more than your presence. And to give you a place to find comfort, peace and whatever else you might need on this evening.
May I get you something?

Good evening M! I've got an early flight tomorrow, so I can't stay, but I'll see you in the land of Morpheus. Hope you are well and here's some music for you and any others who wander by. Cheers!

Weary from a long day.
The couch seems very comfy.
I'll rest here for a bit before I close my eyes to end the day.
A sweet breeze would be nice. Warm, I hope.
A nice cuppa hot tea would be great, if you have it.
And here is a song for your trouble, barefooted Missy.

I have a cuppa hot tea and a warm blanket on hand, just for you.
Rest peacefully. Keep sweet songs in your heart, my friend.

I need to clean the fridge...do you mind? It hasn't had my touch in MONTHS, and if I know you, it missed me! And cleaning is my sanity...I could use some tonight.

Thank goodness! I've lost my gloves in all of this mess, and the green glow is starting to make me look for my sanity. But I have cheap Zin!

cheap zin sounds wonderful! would you mind pouring me a glass (the plastic one is fine!) and I'll be in in a few minutes...this won't take long, I'm on a tear! I picked up a couple of orders of toscana falafels w/ pesto sauce at my new favorite restaurant (an Israeli place that's only been open a few months) You'll love it!

Yummy! That means you get a real honest-to-goodness glass full of cheap Zin. Thank you, still - real friends can be hard to find.

Okay, well that took a little longer than I thought it would! I'm beat! Mind if I snuggle up here? I'll try not to snore if I fall asleep. Do what you need to do...snuggle next to me if you want. I'll let myself out in a bit. Thanks, Missy. It was good to be with you tonight.

They are good, Sammy. Keeping me busy, but I love it.
Me and my man are heading up your way in July...we are very excited! It'll be our 1st trip up to Alaska (and I'm already fretting about what I'll do w/o a computer for 2 weeks!)

You, too, still. See you soon.

Ah Missy, it's been too long.
The night will soon be more than the day - and the cold will seem only more frigid if you don't turn the light on for those of us seeking shelter and the warmth of your hearth a night or two a week.
I'm just going to sink into the colorful cushions, close my eyes and take solace in the music and banter (after I set out the warm apple tartlets, homemade whipped cream and baileys truffles).
So, Missy - let Stilli clean and Flower continue her nap - as we catch up.
Blessings.

Today was the first cold day of the season in Atlanta. Rainy and dreary, too. As if we need more rain here. Your wide open front door with the light pouring out is inviting and comforting.
I'm a little confused. Do your pillows need hugging or do you? Never mind, I'll do both.
Thanks to stilli for cleaning the refrigerator and making room for the cream that goes with the French Roast coffee I brought to warm up from the drearies. I'm glad to park my butt on the sofa and talk and gossip the night away, but do you mind if I ask what happened to the blue chair?
Is the coffee ready? And just for you, take a look at this tiny cozy living room tucked inside a PC.

Yep. Raining here, too. But we haven't had your severe problems. Are you okay?
We all need hugging, don't we?
As for my living room - it's like beauty. In the eye of the beholder.

Makes me feel good, too, stilli.
No real water problems in my section of town, Missy.
But take a look at the 6 Flags Roller Coaster underwater.
And this neighborhood.
