A Felony?
A police chief in Wisconsin had an affair with a reporter. They were both married, and got caught. Oops.
What caught my attention is not that two people committed adultery. Yawn. It's the fact that in Wisconsin, adultery is a felony. Punishable by ten thousand dollars and/or up to three years in prison. There are already people pushing for the chief to be charged, along with the various ethics complaints. I haven't heard the same regarding the female reporter, although what's good for the gander is good for the goose?
A felony? Good thing that's not a law on the books in DC or elsewhere .... talk about prison overcrowding. Of course, it might be one way to get marijuana legalized - we'd need the beds.

Wisconsin is a strange state.
I once sent a link to a very odd Wisconsin drunken bad behavior story (they are quite common, actually) to a friend, who said, in reply, "In Wisconsin, they call that Thursday!"
Really, it's Madison, Milwaukee, and the Twilight Zone.

Speaking from the dim recesses of the Zone here... Say what you want but Wisconsin was the first state to rescind the law making sodomy a felony. Can your state claim not to make felons out of it's gay population by statute?

OK, so what happens if somebody is married but then goes out and 'commits' sodomy. Felony or not?
:-)

Felony in Virginia for sure (among others).

Our lawmakers are too busy making new and increasingly absurd laws to bother with cleaning up all the screwed up ones they already made.
Some people are fond of commenting we are a nation of laws. However, upon examination of those laws you'll find we are a nation of control freaks.

In Boston, the Boston Commons is the tiny park in the center of the city. I believe it's still against the law to let your cow graze there.

If everybody who actually broke a law felt the consequences of the law's penalties, we'd have a lot fewer laws on the books...

Sounds like they're between tea parties.
But worse, I saw this on MSNBC - a story considered worthy of approx. 10 minutes.

Missy, I am speechless over this one.
It makes me laugh.
And yet there are still all those homosexual statutes from days of old still on the books although the courts are not appearing to allow prosecution anymore. Yet!!!

Yea I think it's really crazy that laws like that are still on the books. People who have affairs are committing an unethical act, but getting the State involved isn't helpful at all.

If this was true in DC - seems we might have a few past presidents being arrested..............hmmmm?
