		        <![CDATA[<p>You said it yourself just two minutes later (<a href="http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/11/coleman_declares_victory_in_mi.php#comment-3274938">above</a>). Each GOP incumbent "win" in MN except John Kline ("my" congressman, alas) was largely determined by a strong 3rd party candidate who siphoned off "discontent" votes that would otherwise have gone to the Democrat. Bachmann, Coleman, and even Paulsen only won by pluralities, not majorities. Unfortunately it has been this way in MN ever since the rise of Jesse "The Idiot" Ventura.</p>

<p>We SERIOUSLY need a state (or federal!) constitutional amendment mandating a "top 2" runoff (or "instant runoff") when no candidate wins a strict majority. A majority of the people have voted against Tim Pawlenty and Norm Coleman in every statewide office they have ever pursued.</p>

<p>If I recall correctly, Bachmann has never won a strict majority in her district either. She certainly didn't this time. And this is despite the fact that her district was gerrymandered specifically to guarantee a GOP seat.</p>]]>
