Although there was hardly any reporting done on this by the Republican main stream media, it was George Bush who pushed for minority home buying.... not Clinton as they love to distort about and gave Speculators the go ahead to get minorities to buy homes in the hundreds of thousands.

"Calling a home the "foundation for families and a source of stability for communities," President Bush has proposed three new initiatives designed to enhance existing federal home buyer assistance programs by helping African- and Hispanic-Americans buy homes.  According to the White House, fewer than half of all African and Hispanic Americans currently own their homes, compared to nearly three-fourths of white Americans. "We must begin to close this homeownership gap by dismantling the barriers that prevent minorities from owning a piece of the American dream," said the President in a nationwide radio address.  To close the homeownership gap, President Bush proposed legislation funding the following new initiatives:

American Dream Down Payment Fund
This program would provide money to qualified low-income families to assist in making the down payment on a home. "The single greatest hurdle to first time homeownership is a high down payment requirement that can put a home out of reach," said President Bush. White House analysts estimate that the American Dream Fund will assist some 40,000 low-income families annually in making down payments on homes.

Tax Credits to Create Affordable Housing
This proposed initiative would provide home-builders and developers with nearly $2.4 billion in tax credits for building affordable single-family housing in distressed areas. The tax credits would help make 200,000 new affordable homes available to low-income buyers over the next five years.

Home Buyer Education
To assist home buyers deal with the complexity and difficulty of the purchasing process, this program would provide funds to agencies working to better educated first-time home buyers. Consumers would be advised of their rights and responsibilities as home buyers, and trained to recognize and avoid abusive and unscrupulous lending practices. "Financial education and housing counseling can help protect home buyers against abuses, greatly improve the loan terms they are offered, and help families get through tough times with their homes intact," said President Bush  "Owning a home lies at the heart of the American dream," Bush said. "My approach to broadening home ownership focuses on empowering people to help themselves and to help one another."

And because there were no Regulations to protect said homebuyers who had a balloon interest at the end, well we see what has happened, and they still want to blame the homebuyers instead of the scam perpetrated by lenders who first lowered  interest rates to put people into homes then raised their interest rates  so they could no longer afford their homes.  Someone should go to jail for this!

In regards to the Stimulus controversy, some in the media, earning cushy salaries, unaffected by the impending crisis, asks what's the rush? But, thank God,  there is a new Sherrif in town as President Obama takes his fight to the people.  He understands the American people are hurting and needs help NOW, found here due to greed and neglect!   This Stimulus will re-boot the stalled economy but also be an Investment for future generations, investments too long denied by Republicans who believe Goverment is a problem -- not a solution.  They are negative and not positive and nothing from nothing leaves nothing.

Republicans' new talking points regarding help to the people in the form of a stimulus - is that the polling shows the American people are against this Stimulus (against help)!  What planet do they live on.  By the day, Blue and White collar workers are losing thier jobs, homes, cars.  They are resorting to food and bread lines; unemployment compensation and food stamps (by the way the GOP calls this Welfare).  The American people are hurting and the GOP are playing political games -- let's damage the President, instead of putting their time and care on the crisis looming large for the American people.  At least for Once!

Not unexepectedly, the GOP cry loudly, that that is not the way for Pres. Obama to win -- taking it to the airwaves, (however, he tried being diplomatic and nice)! They don't want him to fight -- to Expose their phony objections and impediment to this catastrophe.  They don't want light but President Obama believes in transparency, and there is no time to lose in this situation.  This patient, the U.S. economy, needs emergency care, now.  Thank God, a new Sheriff is in town and President Obama is fighting for You.  This country has waited long enough for a blood transfusion, and theres no time to lose!

This is not about Pork, as GOP wants you to believe -- this is about the saving of our economy, our way of life.  America is crumbling all around us and the GOP wants to play political games, as usual!  As custodians of the people, President Obama assumed that due to the direness of the situation, Congress would Act accordingly and pass a stimulus, not try to Revive their policical party, when the country needs to be revived, for once to act selfless and put others before themselves!

We must remember, that when the GOP were in control they held no oversight hearings on anything, they did not increase the minimum wage, their concern was not about our crumbling bridges or dirty air, water, contimanted food and Ponsy Schemes that robbed people of millions.  
 
What the young people know, is that we have to re-boot the economy and also Invest in Future Generations and it takes money -- a stimulus to do.  We will know what to do in 2010, get rid of those who want to hang onto the old ways which do not work.  Old ways which neglect our infrastructures -- crumbling schools, bridges and sewers, who want to hang onto the old ways of energy, even though it pollutes our air and water.  We will know what to do in 2010!  We need positive leaders who are able to envision a positive future, not negative ones, with the same old stale ideas, and do nothing for the people, year after year after year!

Americans all accross this country realize we need fundamental change, radical change, if we are to survive and thrive as a country.  Barack Obama has brought many people together, such as Republicans who have never voted for Democrats, Newspapers who usually endorse Republicans, Generals, world leaders and a whole host of people, yound and old, gay and straight, and of all racial persuasions who realize that we have an opportunity in this great leader to fundamentally bring about positive and holistic change, not jusst for America but the world.  Barack Obama has shown us through his words, actions and deeds, that we do not have to run a campaign through lies, deceit and deceptions.  That you do not have to tear an opponent down or dislike him because he disagrees with you.  He has elevated this political areana and ourselves, that we can be better and do better.  He offers hope and inspiration, something which has been lacking in American culture for awhile.  He asks us to overcome our differences and to unite for a common cause, and for the good of this nation.  He asks to choose love over hate, unity over diversity, and sharing over greed.

 

Why is McCain being Deceitful about the fact that William Ayers' educational foundation was funded by Republicans, not Democrats, Republicans, who are now endorsing him?

The Annenbergs who are Republicans, Bankrolled William Ayers with $50 million dollars.  However, Walter and Leonore Annenberg weren't just giving money to the educational foundation started by William Ayers, they were also giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Republican National Committee and various other Republican groups, as well as to a whole host of Republican candidates, including the following:

George W. Bush $4000 -   Mitt Romney $5000
Strom Thurmond $1000 - Fred Thompson $500
Rick Santorum $3000

There are questions that are not being asked or answered such as --why would billionaire Republican philanthropists give millions of dollars to a program that was started by William Ayers, if he is such a scary figure and unrepentant?   Why would George W., Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and all those other Republicans accept money from the people who were funding this William Ayers-associated group? And, why won't McCain discuss these connections between the Republican Party and Ayers?"

Recently, McCain campaign put out a press release bragging about the fact that  Leonore Annenberg has endorsed him for president. The very Leonore Annenberg who bankrolled William Ayers with millions of dollars is now backing McCain!

Lastly, Republican Arnold Weber who served on the board of the CAC with Barack, who worked with William Ayers in the 90's, has also donated at least $1000 to the McCain campaign. So you see, McCain is accepting money from associates of William Ayers, and so far has not given the money back.  Why won't McCain come clean about these facts?  Why is he being deceitful about this?

McCain's hiding Sarah Palin away from answering any questions from the media so that the American people will be able to make an informed choice, is the reason why we cannot trust him in this financial crisis.  There is something deceptive in that action of hiding her away, it is not honest and it is not truthful and it is a lack of integrity!

America we cannot afford, nor can we trust, nor can we have any confidence that McCain and the Country Club Boys First Club will fix our failed and crumbling economic system, when at heart their allegiance is to the Country Club Boys first and not to the American people.  Their fixing will be a partial measure of change and a band aid -- looked to assuage a worried public but will do nothing to bring the radical change and upheaval needed to get America truly back to being fiscally sound and thriving again! It will be short turn and to their advantage. 

McCain can Run, McCain can Pretend, McCain can Deceive but McCain cannot Hide from his past -- the S&L Scandal and the Keating 5! To trust these Country Club Boys again to make fair and sound changes on behalf of the people, would be to do so at your own risk and detriment! When you see and hear McCain speak think, Wizard of Oz!  America we must pull back the curtain and expose the deceit and deceptions of the country-club boys and get off the Yellow Brick Road!  It is somehow sinister to hear McCain now pretend to get  a Heart -- Courage -- and Brain while he deceptively talks about regulation and transparency when he has been against it his whole political career.  McCain cannot change the Old Guard because he is part of the Old Guard, but the new kid on the block, Barack Obama can.

So, what was the catch? Unlike most town-hall events, which are open to the public, include diverse crowds, and no one needs an advance invitation, this event was for ticket-holders only. And the only way to get a ticket was through the local Republican Party, after an advance RSVP. No wonder Palin was prepared to play “stump the candidate” — it was a very friendly crowd that had no interest in testing her.

After being exposed for Lying, McCain is now Engaging in Identity Theft -- as he is now sounding more like Barack every day -- Change we can believe in, Enough is Enough and now Regulation!  Maybe he thinks he can lie, steal and cheat his way to the Presidency.  After all its been done before!   Yesterday McCain said we need a 911 Commissio-like study to investigate our failing economy, however,  yesterday in his speech in Colorado Barack hit back at McCain with "Instead of offering up concrete plans to solve these issues, Senator McCain offered up the oldest Washington stunt in the book –- you pass the buck to a commission to study the problem,” . “But here’s the thing – this isn’t 9/11.”  Barack went on to elaborate -- we know how we have got here, and what we need is Leadership!"  This shows a distinct contrast from a Party with no new ideas and failed policies to Barack, who does have ideas and who is ready to lead!   I quess there is a light at the end of the tunnel because Five Conservative writers have now come forward to speak out and tell the truth that Sarah Palin is not qualified and is not experienced to lead as Vice President or the Presidency.  They are making it clear to the public that John McCain made a poor judgment call, a rash judgment and an unneeded risk when times are bad and in a crisis mode.  As a gambler, McCain should know you never take an unneeded risk in a crisis when things are already shaky.  Enough is Enough!   The American people will not reward a dishonorale and immoral man to the top job in the land, someone they cannot have confidence in.   A Wizard as in Oz, who blusters and pretends but has no real solutions.  American people want someone they can trust and believe in.  They want a renewed Government working and looking out for them again, not just corporations and  Fat Cats -- Giving welfare bailouts and support to Corporations and none to everyday Americans.    So you got your guns, but you can't afford to pay your mortgage?  We have to get rid of that mentallity and embrace unity and change for all.  Look, there is a message in Ground Zero -- that afer 7 years, it is still a dark hole.  This is is a symbol of the failed polices of Republicans, that after 7 years, Ground Zero is still a hole, left desolate and it speaks volumes that we are a country unable to find leadership, unable to unite and unable to rebuild and show ourselves and the world that we know how to overcome adversary, yet trillions of dollars go daily to Iraq, to allegedly rebuild a country which should never have been invaded in the first place. Talk about selling someone the Yellow Brick Road, I mean OIL!   Because continued Drilling is not going to end our addiction, it is a band aid.   We need 21st Century ideas and innovations, we need Intelligence instead of experience.  We need the intellectual capacity of someone who can see the way forward when it is dark and to lead us out of the dark and into the light.  We need a Rudolph whose nose was so bright, only he could lead the way from darkness to light and from the unreal to the real.  

When will Americans wake up from the illusion of the GOP Wizards? Republicans are terrible on Economics and they are terrible on National Security and they have been terrible stewards of the Earth. They have Led us into a Fake & Phony war and have yet to fully implement the recommendations of the 911 Commission to keep this country safe and secure. That is not being Strong on National Security!  Ground Zero is still a Dark Hole and an open Wound and a symbol of Republican failed polices!  We are in an Economic meltdown and Enough is ENOUGH!  Let’s expose the myth, deception and lies of the Wizards—GOP (Grand Opposition Party)! Let’s get off the Yellow Brick Road of lies and deception and realize that the power lies within the people to so produce a working government for the people not a government hiding behind a Curtain of corporate greed and special interest groups! They have failed the American people and they have failed themselves. There is no lasting prosperity for thieves and liars and the wrong one does will eventually come back to be reckoned with. This is their reckoning. Even Alan Greenspan has said Americans cannot afford the $3.3 trillion dollar tax cuts proposed by Senator McCain which is not surprising since McCain has admitted knowing nothing about the Economy and told Detroit auto workers their jobs would not be coming back.  He cannot even envision a future of 21st Century cars run on solar or another greener more cleaner alternative fuel?  Yikes!  That is not Change we can believe in!

Now the Grand Wizard, McCain, who is 72 years old has allegedly put his Country First and nominated for V.P. someone totally lacking in national and foreign policy experience, who would be a heart beat away. Woodward in his recent book “The War Within” states that the two sleeping giants when someone takes the oval office come January 2009 will be Iraq and Afghanistan, something Bob Woodward says Bush was disconnected from. Can you imagine that, a President so disconnected from a war he asked Americans to die for?  Sadly, there will also be another Giant to face—that of the economy. Brokaw said to Sen. Schumer on Meet the Press Sunday past—I thought when one picks a V.P. pick that they pick the most qualified candidate, referring to Obama not picking Clinton and choosing Biden instead. This goes both ways and McCain did not pick the most qualified person in fact he picked the least.  A president will have the Weight of the World on his or her shoulders.  Unfortunately for this Country McCain has made a very bad judgment call and a terrible risk. May be he did not use his good judgment in this pick but something less honorable. Barack and Biden are ready to lead and to take up that weight. I do not think McCain and Palin are ready for such a daunting task. We need true leadership and not a false and deceptive wizard giving lip service to lies and deceit instead of truth and light. If we pull the Curtain back from our eyes, we will see he has no Power and McCain the Grand Wizard, is not the person he says he is!

And lastly, all those who fear if they pick Obama/Biden will have to give up their guns is a false/negative.  What does having a gun and hunting mean, if their are no jobs to go to?  If gas at the pump is $7.00 a gallon?  What does it matter if food is sky high and one is unable to prepare even the most basic meals.  What does it matter if you get sick and you have no health care—unable to afford a doctor or even medicine?  What does it matter if you have your Gun but yet cannot afford the mortgage payments on your home?  What does it matter if through a war mentality World War III breaks out and possible nuclear annihilation?  Will your guns matter then?  We must deal with real issues and not superficial things that will not matter to us in the end when we wished we had of chose wisely instead of through fear, beguilement and deceipt!

Michelle Obama has often stated and pointed out that America's Soul is Broken."  And, that is evidenced in the high increase of crime, rape, killings.  Our uncivility to one another and rudeness.  Our children lack respect to adults and act out.  There is increased sex on television shows and in our music, along with violence.  At the same time, America is trying to grow up out of this adolescent stage and reclaim her Soul!   McCain and the GOP still want to play got-cha politics, which most Americans are weary and growing tired of.  The GOP lead us in a Pretend and Fake war, the Iraq invasion.  The Real war was and is in Afghanistan where Bin Ladin is hiding today.  That is not change you can believe in.  Most Americans want Truth and Authenticity.  We don't want to be led into a fake war for oil!  We don't want our young men and women dying for oil and a fake war that should have never been authorized.  John McCain likes to say he is good on national security, yet he voted Yes to authorize the fake war the Iraq War.  What we need desperately today is more honesty by our politicians in this nation instead of the politics of Got-cha, Lies and the tearing down of one's opponent through dishonesty.  The debate should be about the real issues, not pretend wars or personal attacks and or empty and false slogans because it does nothing for the day to day lives of American people.   The Republican operatives have belittled and berated Barack Obama as just speeches, however, Barack has over 20 years of experience in public service, plus a Natural Talent to organize and get things done, as evidenced by the successful running of his Campaign.  Barack Obama has an innate judgment as evidenced by his speaking out against the Iraq war when it was not popular because he had the intelligence and common sense to know that the real was was in Afghanistan not Iraq.  Bin Ladin did and does not live in Iraq.  Barack Obama has the ability to inspire people to unite in a common cause to bring about the Necessary Changes we need today.  Because if we do not unite for change, for true democracy, together we will all go down with the ship and be united anyway but in a negative way and not a positive way.     We definitely need a change in the way our politicians campaign which as to date, tears down one's opponent through lies and dishonesty which only tears the country down and puts a bad taste in our mouths, though each candidate has the right to  point out true policy differences.   We should demand honesty and integrity from our politicians and stop letting them lead us down a yellow brick road of illusion, misstatements, lies and dirty political maneuvering!    Barack Obama is no ordinary man.  He is not the Messiah, but he is an Old Soul or Disciple.  He was born to lead and born to take humanity to a higher stage of unity and prosperity.  His message has been throughout that all children are Everybody's Children, and that we must change the "mindset" for going into wars.  He tells us that in order for us to make it as a society and solve our problems, that we must stop being divisive: gays against straight, Muslims, Jews, Palestinians, Christians must unite and respect one another's religions.  That will be his greatest gift to humanity at this time -- the ability to see each other as ourselves -- or together we can go down with the ship.  Everyday he risks his life.  He is not running because he has a thirst for power.  He offers up his life for his love of humanity and to its next stage of evolution.  We should embrace this gift and offer up our prayers that he can finish his mission, his high calling.   We must stopped being fooled by politicians who only has the best interest of their pocketbooks and big corporations and not the pocket books of everyday average citizens.   It should not take 10 years for the minimum wage to be increased, there is no justification for that.  That should tell you there that politicians who vote no for an increase care nothing about your day to day struggles.  And you have to ask yourself "What has the GOP done for me lately"?  The years when the American Dream was thriving, they were years when there was Democratic Presidents and Congress.  That is the true party of the people.  If we are to get back to the American dream again we must put in office that party who has always been inclusive and the people's champion.  That party is the Democratic Party.    And lastly we must not listen to those who refuse to understand the changing of the old order, and the awakening of humanity to the new possibilities.  We need a complete purification of the political and economical arenas which would be of the greatest value in bringing back Americas greatness and strength.

George Bush a governor for 8 years, supposedly had "executive experience", and look where that got us!  Maybe that should not be such a criteria for one to be a President and must look to other attributes and characteristics like intelligence, wisdom, judgment and temperment in picking our presidents.  The ability to put people first before party and the ability to unite Americans and not divide us.

For Instance, McCain is a big gambler, loves the gaming tables at Las Vegas, which media was well aware of and are just now coming out with after his gamble of the Sarah Palin pick.  Is this not a characteristic which should have been made known beforehand.  I think the American people have the right to know that McCain has this Vice and whether they want a President who does not have the fortitude to withstand the gaming table!  

GOP through the unveiling of Sarah Palin are trying to sell us a bill of goods and mislead the public like they did about the Iraq War!  There were no WMD's and Sarah Palin is not the Reformer and the Experienced Leader they are trying to portray her -- sell her as.  When did we Americans start Confusing a staged event (drama) with Reality, the truth for a lie!

Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln were not Governors and therefore allegedly had no Executive Experience and yet they were our greatest Presidents!

Republicans belittle community organizers which is a public servant because they do not believe in serving the Public only the wealthy.  To be a President means to be the greatest of Public Servants.

GOP Family Values?  Yet for 10 years they voted no to the minimum wage for working mothers and families and only after Democrats gained control was minimum wage passed!  Yet every year they make sure they get their Raises!

GOP Family Values:  Yet they will not approve an affordable health care plan for all Americans, yet they have great health care for themselves.  That would be too much like a government give away but its ok for them to get the government give away.

GOP loves to talk about putting country first, prosperity, the flag and in Reality they do nothing but talk and leave our the action.  They have fooled Americans for years with talk and no action on behalf of the people.  For years under GOP rule the country has declined in economic promise for the everyday family, college education has soared and unreachable for many young people who are intelligent and eager to learn.  GOP knows that an intelligent public means they cannot get away with their lies for a higher education trains one to "think for themselves".  They do not want people to think but to follow them blindly.  Like sheep going to the slaughter!  We must not let them sell us this empty bill of goods again.

It is time for us, those who care deeply for this country, to Expose the Myth, the lie and the deceptions of the Republican party.  Pull the curtain back on the Wizard of Oz and expose them for what they are frauds and  pretenders, who really have no answers at all.

For instance I heard one GOP opertive say after Sarah Palin's speech "When we need leaders the most they step up?  Really they read a prepared speech on a teleprompter in front of an adoring crowd and this makes one a leader?  We Americans have to stop letting these GOP operatives sell us these empty bill of goods and fill our heads with lies which are not based on reality or truth!   We must see clearly the path ahead and not be lead down the wrong path, like Iraq where Bin Ladin does not live.  We are at a fork in the road.  Can you see the two paths -- one keeping you on the same path of illusion, fear, war and spiraling poverty -- the other to increased, peace, prosperity, good health and unity.  We must choose correctly!

Sarah Palin is not only less experienced and less qualified than Barack, she seems to lack the intellectual curiosity, or unwillingness, and depth to probe and understand the important and complexing problems/issues knocking at our door today. For example, Palin offhandedly asked CNBC anchor Larry Kudlow in July "What is it exactly that the vice president does all day?" And, if she does not know what a VP does we can be assured she does not know what a President does, and yet she will be Just a Heartbeat Away, given McCain's age and health status! And when asked about her stance on Iraq by Alaskan Daily, Palin answers "I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq. (Just what major policy decisions has Ms. Palin introduced and how informed is she on national and international affairs)? She goes on to say that she heard on the news about the new deployments"! Operative phrase -- Heard on the News! That is an outrageous statement for someone who is supposed to have an intellectual grasp on national issues and instead not have any pertinent view on the most pressing and urgent problem of our time, and does not feel a duty or responsibility to find out as much information about this problem as she can. I am sure she has constituents in Iraq and son to soon be deployed there also you would think that she would have some knowledge about this situation! Will she have this same nonchalant attitude about Iran, and Georgia, both pressing problems? Does this sound like someone who is truly intelligent or an Airhead? And, was she truly vetted?

Next they are trying to paint her as a Reformer, someone who fights Corruption, a woman who is now under a messy Investigation of her own Ethics by the Alaskan legislature (troopergate), hardly seems the reformer they want to pretend she is. A maverick? Sarah Palin has approved 26 billion dollar oil-pipeline for a Canadian business which will hire Canadians and not people here in the United States and a very big proponent of drilling, instead of really focusing on newer 21st century ways of dealing with our energy crisis. She is not an energy expert she is an oil expert, so its still about big oil and more of the same -- The old vs. the new!

David Frum a Republican strategist says "John McCain for all his white hair who represents the risky choice, while it is Barack Obama who offers cautious, steady, predictable governance. Here’s I fear the worst harm that may be done by this selection. The McCain campaign’s slogan is "country first." It’s a good slogan, and it aptly describes John McCain, one of the most self-sacrificing, gallant, and honorable men ever to seek the presidency. But question: If it were your decision, and you were putting your country first, would you put an untested small-town mayor a heartbeat away from the president?"

Lastly, McCain's and GOP's ploy to go after Hillary Clinton's disaffected voters proves to the world how really pathetic the Republican party has become that they will try any trick in the book to keep the power in the hands of big oil and special interest and out of the hands of the people where it belongs. In this pick they are putting American people last and taking a huge risk with this country. And, should a Presidential candidate play Russian roulette with the people's business? It is telling of McCain's character and judgment that with all the problems we face here today, he did not have the People's interest at heart in this V.P. pick but rather a desire to win for winnings sake and did not think of the consequences of his actions or maybe did not care what it would mean for this country if she were to be sworn in as President of the United States! And, ironically, the very things he accused Barack of being (which he is not) -- empty suit, no experience -- he got in his own V.P. Pick, Sarah Palin, who clearly is not as intelligent as they want you to beleive and it is she who is lacking on national issues and woefully uninformed.

With all our economic problems, threats of terrorism, he picks someone with much less executive experience than Barack Obama, who by the way was 10 years in the state senate before being elected to the U.S. Senate (a bio very similar to Lincoln who is considered one of our greatest if not the greatest President we have ever had), and which takes away McCain's most ardent argument to date that Barack is an empty suit! Is this another Alan Keyes moment when GOP put up Mr. Keyes to run against Barack in Illinois just because he was Black?

In her speech on Friday, they already have Gov. Palin "lying" to the American people that she was always against the Bridge to Nowhere, however recorded information will prove that this is not accurate and that she was for the Bridge to Nowhere, before she was against it!

She cited the widespread negative attention focused on the Gravina Island crossing project. 'We need to come to the defense of Southeast Alaska when proposals are on the table like the bridge and not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project or any other into something that’s so negative,' Palin says"
