Got any big plans for YOUR 9-11?
Gotta show your colors. Gotta prove your patriotism. Gotta prove you're MORE patriotic than those peacenik hippie Democrats.
It's the Republicans' biggest holiday of the year!

I'm going to think about how many Americans have died due to lack of health insurance since 9/11/2001. The answer is about 144,000. Or about 48 "nine-elevens" worth.

(that's from the lowball estimate of the Institute of Medicine... the higher estimate from the London School of Hygiene was about 808,000 unnecessary deaths over 8 years...)

I'm going to spend it the same way I've done every year since 2001. I will be at a group dinner with a friend whose husband died in the Trade Center. There won't be any talk of Republicans or Democrats, just praising someone's life.
Thank God Daddy-O won't be there to ruin the party! It's incredibly disgusting to call 9/11 a holiday.

Apparently you don't appreciate my talents for imitating what I'm all but certain other people are thinking, giving themselves away at every turn.
Like Joe Wilson.
Listen, MCB, as long as you admitted it's a party, I stand confirmed that only the most slack-twisted of 'patriotic' conservatives cling to 9-11 like a sick toe fetish, 'proving' they love America. 9-11, tragic as it was, was the best day in the life of neocons, the Religious Right, and George W. Bush.
Enjoy yourself tonight. By the way, do you know what the significance of December 7th is? No fair checking Wikipedia.

You're right, I don't appreciate your humor. It's pretty disgusing. And I have no idea what Joe Wilson has to do with 9-11.
I used the word "party" because we are celebrating the memory and life of my friend that died 8 years ago. That has nothing at all to do with clinging to '9-11' like you describe. You're the sick and twisted one making up things that don't exist.
I didn't have any friends that died on Pearl Harbor day, but if I did I'm sure I'd be getting together with friends on that day too.

It's not meant to be funny. And when I wrote "Apparently you don't appreciate my talents for imitating what I'm all but certain other people are thinking, giving themselves away at every turn", there's nothing in there that refers to or creates humor. It does, however, refer to what Joe Wilson most likely thinks every time he sees President Obama, as I've carefully documented here on my blog.
You may or may not be included in the set of conservatives, Republicans, George W. Bush supporters and neocons to whom I refer with this post. That you misunderstood it surprises me not a bit.
Congratulations for knowing about Pearl Harbor Day, which was the start of the LAST REAL WAR the U.S. fought. Everything else since has been a police action, which is why we've lost every one of them since (except the Korean War, which is ONGOING and simply at a truce which could be broken at any time).

You're just a disgusting scumbag. You have no reason to really believe that people use 9-11 as a "holiday".
Next time try picking a different event to use as a method for your political slams.
You clearly have no compassion for anybody who lost any loved ones on that day.
To steal a quote Ken Langone, "We all have our own private hells. But I hope that your private hell is hotter than anyone else's."
