Go listen to Glenn Beck
Jed Lewison's compilation. His text sums it up perfectly:
"Twelve minutes of the craziest conspiracy theory rants you've ever heard on television, all from Glenn Beck, all targeting Barack Obama, and all delivered during the past week..."
The most disappointing part of this twelve minutes was the ending; after Glenn Beck pleads with the audience to not be a sheep, to not take it any more, he promises to give us all the solution, the action to take, in order to reclaim the nation.
Unfortunately, Jed left that part out.
What I want to know is this: How do we reclaim our nation from the crazies who take this idiot seriously?

I have already ranted about how this fellow has violated terrorist legislation.
He must be stopped.

How?
Short of a scope-fitted high-powered rifle, the only thing I can think of to stop Glenn Beck is to bring back the Fairness Doctrine.
Only the Repigs or their brainwashed brethren would be fool enough to oppose something called the Fairness Doctrine, and be able to spin it successfully.

Do I have to? Do I really have to? Even if he makes my ears ring, my flesh crawl, and my stomach turn? Please, please say I don't have to.

I can't listen yet this morning to a compilation, but crooksandliars had his rant with Malkin and some Carter admininstration "advisor" showing two black panthers at a voting site, and eight black men drilling in a room who had logos on their shirts (maybe obama logos?) and concluded that Obama is raising a civilian military to TAKE YOU OVER! (bwa-ha-ha!)
I just don't grok their minds.
The only reason to listen or watch, amike, is to know what you are dealing with here. My husband can't handle it some days, so I wait until he's gone to play the clips. I get his point. Totally.
The thing is, conclusions like Beck's make it into conventional wing-nuttery wisdom by the next day.

Daddy-o, i wanted to say i like your book list, especially "Only the Red Letters."

Thanks, wendy! It's nice of you to say that.
I think a lot of so-called Christians ignore a helluva lot of those Red Letters. Something else I thought of just yesterday: You can tell a Christian by how they act. If they act like royalty, issuing edicts and orders and no-compromise religious fatwahs, they ain't no Christians.
If they serve their fellow man and woman, humbly, without crowing about it, just as Christ taught, they're Christians.
A lot of Repugz wonder how I can call myself a Christian, after I excoriate them so readily; after all, Jesus said I risk the fires of hell for simply calling someone a 'fool'. And I've done plenty of that in my time. But even Jesus lost his temper with the true evil he faced...
Besides, whenever I think of WWJD, I think the first thing He would do if he came back and saw this pile of crap called humanity, he'd just throw his head back and laugh...
Then he'd start kicking neocon butt, yessir.
