No one has been proven fucking right more than Sy Hersh
We're talking for decades now. No one. He is the man. Judith Miller isn't fit to lick his boots.
And his latest slip of the tongue, to an Arab TV station, has been brought to Western attention via The Nation. Apparently, Dick Cheney's assassination squad ordered and carried out the hits on not only Benazir Bhutto, but also Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri and his military chief. Conventional MSM wisdom and the Bush administration have fingered Syria for the Lebanese kills, and have, along with Israel, rattled swords in anger, threatening, while Syria denied everything, just like a terrorist state would do, naturally.
This is JFK territory. This is world-class conspiracy territory. And it confirms what I've been saying for at least six years: It's not the crimes of George W. Bush & CO that we KNOW about; it's the ones we will discover that are going to astonish us all.
Sy Hersh rules journalism. No one has the contacts, the sources, the best of the behind-the-scenes persons still sane enough to recognize the madness that is our government operating in the shadows--and sickened by it. But as I read this story, it occurred to me: How long before Sy Hersh gets himself assassinated? If I had to guess...this might be the story that sends the top brass at Langley over the top.
Stay out of small airplanes, Sy, and stay off motorcycles, while you're at it.

Hersh is one of my heroes, too. Yeah, I worried for years that if it is so easy to discern the sins of w from what we have heard and seen, WHAT THE HELL ELSE IS OUT THERE?

Very weird links, Dick, and a bit out there, shall we say. But did you see who they claim was at the top of Cheney's hit team? McChrystal. God, this kind of a story would have both Reps and Dems going nuts on it. ;-)

Benazir Bhutto was assassinated, perhaps not so coincidentally, right after she announced in an interview that Osama Bin Laden had been murdered back in 2002. I think had that gotten more play, it would have taken the wind out of the sails of those who concocted the fictitious "war on terror" narrative that was used to establish permanent parking for our entire military in Iraq.

Interesting information, but it's unsigned and from the "emailed" section of the politics page. So this is basically a reader comment? It reads like a poor translation from another language, or at least was written by someone who has a poor grasp of English.
I think I would wait for a more legitimate report on Hersh's comments, whatever they were, before I started to place too much weight on this.

Yes, but it was viewed on Arab TV by the writer of the article. It is, yes, not the best of journalism.
But another point I meant to make is this: Sy Hersh can hardly go on CSPAN or the Today Show and make these claims, especially if they're true...
I have no doubt that Cheney ordered them both dead. No depth is too deep to which this man is capable of sinking. He is a ghoul.

The whole cover-up of the Bhutto assassination is what really bothered me. I mean, you could see the assassin in the video footage! The whole thing had CIA written all over it, right down to the immediate destruction of all of the evidence at the crime scene, including hosing down the street right after the event happened.
This is a great find, and I wasn't meaning to imply that your post was based on a groundless assertion, just that it would be nice to have some other source to back up this emailed comment that was the springboard for your post.
Hersh is also the one who exposed the detainee abuse/child-rape films that I posted about a few days ago. I hope he gets his next book published SOON.
