Sure are a lot of lying liars out there

There always have been. There always will be.

Here's the latest:
FDR and the New Deal killed growth. The New Deal was a drag on the economy, with its make-work programs. It EXTENDED the Great Depression.

Yeah. Right.

Here's the truth, condensed in one small sentence that the lying liars simply cannot spin away:

The GDP hit a new record in 1936, only three years into the New Deal, and never again fell below the levels of 1929.

Thank God somebody isn't afraid to tell the truth--or face it.

'create or save' jobs

I don't like this phrase. I cannot trust these words.

There are about 150 million jobs in the United States. During the Bush terms, the country basically added nearly NO jobs. Eight long years.

But in all the denials, lies, statistical manipulation, the severe loss of the national manufacturing base despite the assignment of a 'manufacturing jobs czar' by Bush, I never heard the words "This will create or save X number of jobs".

Think about those words. Look at them. This claim is both a prediction, and a loophole, in one slim phrase. Because if even X number of jobs are left after the entire economy collapses, even if 95% of Americans are out of work--a sheer impossibility, granted--it is still a true statement.

This is not what I want to hear right now. I'd rather hear the truth--that this stimulus package may NOT work, whether it's too small, too late or possibly NOTHING will work, that we are going to enter into the Great Depression II.
