A message for Gov. Palin: JUST.GO.AWAY.
I've become more and more disgusted with Gov. Palin as I keep seeing news accounts of her continued in-fighting with fellow veterans of the defeated McCain campaign.
It appears that she still doesn't realize she was never anything more than a gimmick. A last ditch effort to win the White House by a campaign that knew the proverbial writing was on the wall and their only hope was to start chucking Hail Mary passes early in the third quarter!
She is not currently and never was taken seriously by serious people on any of the grave matters of national policy that critically need to be addressed.
In short, she was and remains a joke.
A bad joke.
The kind of bad joke that is often repeated in order to make fun of the person who thought that it would be funny. "Can you believe he/she thought people would laugh at THAT? What an idiot!"
Based on the tone of her attacks on her opponents I don't feel she is entitled to any kid gloves or benefit of the doubt now. She knew what she was doing so I don't feel any pity for the utter fool she is currently making of herself. In that sense, the constant back and forth over just how much of a buffoon she really was and remains is sort of entertaining. It's just that this dog and pony show has gotten really old, really quickly.
Gov. Palin, for your own sake: Please, just fade away quietly into the background.
You were not a realistic national candidate and you're less of one now than you were before. Save yourself and your family the further humiliation and just go back to obscurity in Alaska. Based on the levels of continued support for a corrupt and disgraced Senator, you'll fit right in!
p.s. Anyone else find it hysterical that this candidate who was allergic to reporters during the campaign seemingly now can't get enough of them?

The problem is that for some in the MSM, she is still newsworthy. I do not share in the newsworthiness assessment. I agree with your post whole heartedly.
Is the MSM into her for comedic value?? Or are we seeing the rehabilitation of Palin for future right wing Repub purposes??
It doesn' matter why, but NBC and the others ought to get on board with the rest of the country. Eventually, their ad revenue has to suffer. I certainly won't be watching her.
God forbid that she ends up in the U.S. Senate.

Remember the MSM always goes after the car chases also, sometimes for extended news coverage above all else.
She is a walking talking car chase in action.

It'd be nice if she went away, but I still think she's a constant source of comedy for me. Check out my entry about how she said "thanks but no thanks" on the Bridge to Neiman Marcus. I think you'll like it (and we could all use a laugh in the last throes of the Bush Administration).

Well, it's so much easier covering her than the WARS THAT WE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR 5+ YEARS THAT REMAIN UNEXAMINED IN THE PRESS! Excuse me for shouting, but I am also sick of this ignorant woman.
When she wouldn't talk to the press, they covered every one of her venomous speeches, which they should have black-balled. Now that she wants to talk to them they fawn all over her.
No, she is not finished, because there is a party that gets its tax theories from a (non)plumber who has an alias, and whose energy policy can be summed up in a childish rant of 3 words (well, actually 2): Drill Baby Drill! They didn't care that their Presidential condidate wanted MORE wars, and used the word "fight" in almost every speech, or that the person who would take over when his 72 year-old ticker (or brain) ceased to function, was only good at throwing mud, and was astonishingly ignorant about the world we live in.
That party is still out there, and make no mistake about it, this election was a squeaker -- if the economic meltdown had taken another 3 months -- who knows? The republican party wears ignorance like a banner -- science? That's for pussies! Facts? Easily disputed by faith! Family values? A slogan to run on only! They suck, but they're not gone. And she is a perfect example of them, so watch out everyone.

I have faith that Mitt, Huck et all will do their best to rip to shreds before or during 2012.
But...
the Republicans have a disturbingly large number of winner take all primaries, so even someone who isn't particularly popular in the GOP can win the nomination. See McCain, John.

THANK YOU. For posting this. You have just put words to this powerful feeling that has been taking me over every time I turn on the tv the past few days. IS SHE STILL HERE? I remember the moment last Tuesday night when I shouted gleefully "we don't have to worry about Palin anymore!!!!' I seriously hope god comes down and tells her just to stay in Wasilla.

Everything she is complaining about in the media is just what SHE did.
When she set out to insult, disrespect, slander and malign Obama, a man she never met and did not know, she had no qualms.
Now she complains that those awful things are happening to her and they are "immature, unprofessional, disrespectful and they are jerks."
Its the same-o same-o of the rethugs, always accuse the opponent of the things you are doing, in hopes of re-directing the attention onto them and away from you.
She wants to run in 2012 and hopes by then she will have remade herself into a progressive disguise of an "independent" having broken by then with the old and on with the new. Uh huh.

I really hope the Republicans nominate her in 2012. Their election night slaughtering will be far worse than they experienced this year.
