Is the right side of your blog blank?
If you're not seeing the sidebar on your blog, click the edit your profile link from the top nav bar. After you save, your sidebar should show up, and people can start following you!
I'll be answering questions about the new system in comments.

I still get an error message when I submit comments, but after I back out and re-enter the thread, the comments appear...

I'm getting this message when I leave a comment, although the comment does display when I go back and look at the post:

That is because the user doesn't have a sidebar yet. If it's you, edit your profile and hit save to get your sidebar to show up, otherwise you won't be able to comment or get comments.

I'd settle for being able to log in under my old ID - I get some crap about not being able to access anything. And even though I'm logged in under this new temp-ID, I have to sign in again to comment? WTF?
Let's get the basics working before plugging new features, OK?

we're working on getting the basics working. you'll be able to log in with your original id once we're totally finished with the upgrade process.
