The Flushing Remonstrance

An interesting example of a "conservative" evangelical Christian

prosletizing for higher taxes on wealth and lower taxes on the poor. This ran in the New York Times Business Section on Christmas day, and therefore I missed it in the print edition. Happened to see it now on the website's "Most Popular stories" list, an interesting factor in itself.

One thing that personally intrigues me about Professor Hamill's "jihad," as it were, is that it apparently focuses on state and local taxation and not Federal; I think that is something that progressives often pay too little attention to, paying far too much attention on Federal taxation. Sales tax, for one example, is incredibly regressive, and, for another, local governments will sometimes give incredible tax benefits to anyone who might create a job or two, then balancing their budgets on the backs of regular taxpayers or more typically, cut services that lower income people really need.

Osama's opinion

What's the use of worrying about 2008 election strategery until Osama fully weighs in? Real or myth, it doesn't matter, he's part of the process now. (Just ask an Iraqi: security first.)

Especially with Fritz Abdullah Gelowicz also in the news.

If his spin is the same old, same old, then one can unfortunately proceed with the same old, same old. If it's not, well then....
