BARACK OBAMA: A BLACK ANGEL IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

The world's eyes are all looking towards the United States. A new president is taking over the White House. One, which has had a meteoric political career and has left more than one dumbfounded when he was first elected candidate and then President of the until recently most powerful nation on the planet. Despite what has been commonly said about racism and other social phenomena, the choice of a man such as BARACK OBAMA is a good example of the evolution of a tolerant public opinion in the making. Barack Obama is half white and half Black. Muslim and Christian roots, having chosen to be practicing the latter. His childhood was also framed within a difficult social context, breaking with the dominant historical tradition of American Presidents. He is not from the "typical" American household, he didn't follow his father's footsteps, nor did he perform military service. Except with respect to their maternal grandfather, who served in World War II under the orders himself General Patton. This much I mention Barack Obama in his campaign He is as common and run-of-the-mill as the simplest American, and yet at the same time the most singular. His arrival vindicates the so-called American Dream. And most importantly, he is not imbued with social resentment. He doesn't arrive to power aiming to put anyone down, rather looking to make things fairer for everyone in the United States. A more responsible role to play on the world stage; not as lord and master, but as a masterful conductor of processes aimed at making possible the happiness of the people. He questioned many of his party's positions. He accepts that sometimes it is necessary to challenge authority. He believes in the free market and liberal economics, but emphasizes the role of the state as the guiding hand of the common good. He knows that the federal government is veritable pachyderm, an elephant that moves very slowly and many of whose social programs only work on paper. He is proud of his country but knows it has made mistakes. He has said that he is not prepared to give up who he is in order to please preconceived positions. He has a deep respect for the people's history and culture. He's known poverty. There was a time he was very close to it. He is conscientious of the importance of spiritual strength to every person. In my view, BARACK OBAMA's biggest problem is nothing new. His political school has been the Democratic Party, very close to the socialist concepts of the present times. Liberal in economics but formal in exercising the powers of the state. Doesn't want to be the elephant in the room and nevertheless will face a tough test: to put aside some of his principals or assume a confrontational position which will force him to declare a crisis. The United States is living one of it's worst moments and he arrives precisely to meet it. There is too much expectation. I believe more than he would have liked. The economy is experiencing a severe blow, one as strong as that of the 40s. The application of old formulas has not yielded results. The situation in Iraq is untenable for the government. A generation similar to that of Vietnam is emerging. He must define the role of the government in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the world, which cannot be easy to do because the Jewish people have a great relationship with the development of the United States as a nation. He will remember the times of the Cuban missile crisis and other actions taken by the U.S. government in Latin America: Grenada, Panama, etc.. The doubts would be especially difficult to explain in his case due to his background and ethnicity. Obama must rescue America's leadership and ensure the security of the nation. Another September 11th would be fatal. But he knows that to achieve this he should reduce the role of the government in external conflicts. How to terminate the Monroe Doctrine and not run the risk of being accused of being a "traitor to the homeland? He will attempt to remain true to himself, but fear runs through his body. He knows that he cannot fail even once, because it would destroy a public opinion driven by economic interests linked to the very system that he aims to do battle with. The CHAVEZ recipe could be what the doctor ordered for this great nation, but that formula doesn't work. To add more problems and difficulties to the young President, there is Putin's leadership which is struggling to excel. The same goes with ZAPATERO and the woman who governs Germany. It is now time to stop thinking as a candidate and assume the leadership of the ship-of-state. Gone are the promises, the speeches, the theories. It's time to assume the role for which he has been tested many times. Came here and now. From criticism to action. His mandate will be seen by Latinos across the country and neighboring countries who view him as the possibility of resolving their situation of illegality, and the resident or citizen who thinks the problem is the access the to the benefits of the system, which are becoming less and less. He should live up to the expectations of the most impoverished citizens of recent years, without forgetting the goose that lays the golden eggs. Afro-descendants of the world owe this man a profound recognition: nothing is impossible when one is capable and steadfast. After he takes the oath of office and begins to live in that, from the viewpoint of semantics is the racist White House, where a Black man rules, will be convinced that in fact slavery has died. The dream of Dr. Luther King has been fulfilled. The challenge is for him to govern without being governed. Beginning with his inauguration we will begin a new judgment on this man, a new trial, and why not, because the angels of heaven are also of color
