Dear George:   For years I have regarded you as a true conservative in most respects.  In my view the most important and valuable personal quality of the true conservative is what I would describe as passionate sobriety.    This year, at this time, the sober choice is not McCain/Palin.  I try to read carefully.  And nowhere, not in your closing argument for McCain today nor anywhere else, have I seen you say you will be voting for McCain/Palin (perhaps I missed it).    Because of your standing, you are in a position to have an enormous impact on the outcome of this election by simply informing your readers you will be acting on your belief as to what true conservatism requires by casting your vote for Obama/Biden.  This would show exceptional moral courage and character on your part and would be the act of a true patriot.    I hope you will seriously consider it.   Sincerely,
