GA Rep. Paul Broun, Jr. MD -- Still an IDIOT! Proposes 'privatizing Medicare in new bill
Rep. Paul Broun Proposes Bill That Would Privatize Medicare
In an attempt to reclaim the right's rich tradition of opposing Medicare, Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) has proposed legislation that would roll back the Medicare system and replace it with a system of vouchers that seniors could use to purchase private insurance:
U.S. Rep. Paul Broun introduced his own health care reform bill last week that would, among other things, privatize the Medicare insurance program for seniors.
Broun's bill would replace government benefits with vouchers that could be spent on private insurance or put in tax-free medical savings accounts.
"We've got to fix Medicare," he said. "It's headed in a direction that's unsustainable."
Anyone want to venture a guess at just how terrible a financial crisis the US middle class would presently find itself in if Bush and the Republicans had successfully privatized Social Security and placed all our trust in Wall Street?

You could combine all three Repug vouchers on one piece of toilet grade tissue:
(1) the education/k-12 school tuition voucher
(2) the family health care voucher
(3) the medicare/medicaid voucher

At least its a good way to get Seniors on the Dem side and stop thinking the GVT is going to kill them....
This way, they know they will be killed or have the burden on tax payers swell... If a program is run at 97% efficacy, why would you drop it to run at 70%?

He did us a favor by reminding the seniors what the GOP really wants, to get their money-grubbing, corporate hands deeper into the finances of their medical needs. One would hope the Dems can now be contrasted for their advocacy of Medicare by the government rather then the GOP advocacy of seniors are prey for corporate scavengers.

The really crazy thing is that Broun is up for re-election in 2010, and has not one challenger to date. The Democrat National Committee must have deserted Georgia. We've more 'certifiable' born again, right-wing wingnut idiots in public office than any other state in the nation. I don't understand it. We've got Jack Kingston too! It's scary. One of the candidates for Georgia Governor confessed to have sex with mules and watermelons FCS!
