Politics Time Out: How big can Obama's head get?
If artist Jorge Rodriquez-Gerada finishes his portrait of Obama on a beach in Barcelona, about 2.5 acres or so by Election Day.
To find it on Google Earth and watch the progress during the coming week, search for "Obama Portrait" on GE or by entering the below coordinates:

Yikes!
The rest of the world knows not all that much about our internal politics, but how cool is it that Obama is universally considered cool?

Turns out that the artist is Cuban-American and living in Spain. But, all of the materials/labor are being donated incl bulldozers and operators so it is pretty cool.
By necessity, people around the world (esp in Europe) tend to read/know much more about our politics & history than Americans do about theirs. Ironically, I have had far more cogent and fact-based discussions about US politics with Londoners and Dutch cabbies than many political campaign workers in Florida & NY. I can tell you the interest level in Europe is higher than I have seen it in 3 decades.
Despite McPalin's failed attempt to make Obama's popularity with other democratic countries a negative, there is a great feeling outside the USA that an Obama Presidency would represent a new beginning and emotional shift for America.
Americans who understand that change, also understand its multiple benefits for restoring American diplomacy and leadership on the world stage.
