Accountability: The $100,000,000 dollar FINE!

I found it strange that Large Corporations are running scared...not from consumers, but from law suits!

Just today, in the NY Times an article regarding how Industries are ducking for cover and requesting regulation from the US government. In the quote below shows how they are trying to make it look like as if they have been requesting this for years.

In the NY Times,In Turnaround, Industries Seek U.S. Regulation by ERIC LIPTON and GARDINER HARRIS, Sept. 16, 2007 "After years of favoring the hands-off doctrine of the Bush administration, some of the nation’s biggest industries are pushing for something they have long resisted: new federal regulations."

But, even in the event that some corporations are swift to punish, such as the case in Formula -1 racing. The fines are extreme and shamed in the publics eye!

www.planet-f1.com

"McLaren have been banned from the Constructors' Championship and fined $100 million."

"Ferrari: "In light of new evidence, facts and behavior of an extremely serious nature and grossly prejudicial to the interest of the sport have been further demonstrated. Ferrari is satisfied that the truth has now emerged."

Now thats what I call a fine! But why can't we hold corporations accountable for there actions? If our government won't, who will?

Just last week another fast swift penalty was enforced when a major football team was found guilty of spying on another team...and they were fined and harsh terms with members of the team were placed on them.

Even that both are sports related, they are a corporation and took into account public opinion and handled it swiftly and harshly.

So, if they took public opinion into account in the event that business would suffer if not acted quickly, why can't this Congress hold this administration to public opinion and act prompt and harshly?

The time has come to hold that heftily fine to all the evidence that has surfaced regarding this administration.
