Israeli President Peres: 'Iran can also be wiped off the map'
Shimon Peres said Monday that "the president of Iran should remember that Iran can also be wiped off the map."
"Teheran is making a mockery of the international community's efforts to solve the crisis surrounding Iran's nuclear program," Peres told Reuters, adding that "Iran presents a danger to the entire world, not just to us."
Peres's vehement expressions came the same day that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrote to US President George W. Bush proposing "new solutions" to their differences in the first letter from an Iranian leader to an American president in 27 years, Iranian government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said Monday.
In the letter, Ahmadinejad proposes "new solutions for getting out of international problems and current fragile situation of the world," Elham said.

Maybe we're just being played for fools and suckers. By keeping Americans in a constant state of neurosis, we're excellent material for begging to be kept under a semi-police state, gladly giving up what is left of our freedom to stay safe.
The only problem is that we are further from safety than ever before in the history of our democratic republic.
With the drunken and deluded GW Bush itching to start another war to take the public's mind of his numerous failures and catastrophes and the power mad and bloodthirsty Cheney never meeting a war he disliked--except the one in Vietnam, when he was of age to serve, but ducked out and got FIVE deferments to save his corpulent ass--it's easy to be scared shitless these days.
