REPUBLICAN PARTY HEAD HOPES US GETS ATTACKED.. AGAIN

“At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001 ], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country,” Milligan said.

The Republican Party of Arkansas, which was beaten decisively in last year’s election, needs to dedicate itself to running next time on an anti-tax, pro-highway and pro-education agenda, its new chairman said.

Bryant businessman Dennis Milligan also said the party faithful need to run for more local offices.

This kind of stuff one can't make up. Be careful what you wish for...

Seems like some careless colloquial language really, rather than actual hope for an attack.

"I think all we need [for the public to see that Republicans are right on the issues, specifically terrorism] is some attacks on American soil..."

Future attacks are really inevitable, so, after considering the language inserted within the "[]" above, his statement would have been better phrased, "When the next attack happens, the public will see that our Repug party is where it's at," more or less.

I'm confused here? Last night I wrote a Blog piece on the same subject, yet it did not get put up! Why is that?

This is very unfortunate that my blog was not put up, but I am happy that the message is still the same...and put out for those to read and make their own judgment call!

Personally, the words this GOP leader has used in Arkansas should be challenged by the Democratic leader in that state and say he is the one who is UN-AMERICAN for stating such a thing!!!

Hey, what does anyone expect? In 2001, National Security Advisor Richard Clarke warned the Bush Administration about the strong possibility of terrorist attacks on our country and Bush-Cheney ignored him. They wanted these attacks to occur, because they wanted them as an excuse to go to war in Iraq. Of course as we know, Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks. Bush, Cheney, and their cronies make up the most corrupt administration in U.S. history. If they're willing to send 3,000 Americans and counting to die in Iraq, not to mention the thousands more Iraqis, and refuse to admit a mistake and reverse policy, then they don't care about the rest of us on our own soil. So Milligan's remarks are not surprising. The people who control today's Republican Party would welcome such an attack, if they thought it would help them. The only thing that I will say is that perhaps Milligan didn't want the words to come out of his mouth that way, and that it might have been a slip of the tongue.
