Wed/Thurs 2nd Chance Clearinghouse For Posts That Deserve Another Look- Updated Daily (formerly Aggregate Post)

This post is a clearing house for links to posts that flew by too fast,
or didn't get the attention they deserved, or were too good to go away
even if they made it to reader rec.

If you add a link, please
give a brief description along w/ your reasons for why it deserves a
2nd look. ANYONE can add a link here.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE
stop by everyday to rec this post, even if you don't add anything, or
read anything on it...It only works if it gets up to reader rec, thus
making the posts available for longer.

If it BARELY makes Reader rec, it gets kicked off early. Today we lost about 10 good links, and w/ no access to the archives, they are VERY difficult to find.
This is a GREAT tool, but if we don't use it, we lose it.

Take time to watch this video of Donna Brazile...It is very inspiring! There is a hot link in the 1st comment.

Rather than start a whole new thread on this, I'm posting it here...great opinion piece by Thomas Freidman regarding Palin...God how tired I am of her, but this is pretty good...

Warning: go pee before you watch it, because it is hilarious, and has a scary ring of truth to it.

Go Pee, then go watch it, and click it on up.

"Sarah Palin represents a fatal cancer to the Republican party". David Brooks.

Watch him say it, and much more, plus read how he praised Senator Obama's intellect, etc.

A discussion of the DOW:

http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/10/the-dow-is-crashing.php

One of the most important issues we face is voter suppression, voter fraud and voting machines that either don't work or can be (and probably will be) hacked.

This is a huge concern to all of us, but it gets buried under the incessant noise of the campaigns. Perhaps we all think - there's nothing I can do about it. We've already seen that the cheaters prosper and we have to cross our fingers and hope it doesn't happen again.

I disagree. First, we can start a campaign to prepare the scene for a real response - from Obama, if necessary, from our own Congress - and from the American people. We need to be prepared.

The first step, I think is to start a semi-permanent thread on TPM. Since there's not that much room "at the top," I propose starting it here, on this daily 2nd chance thread. We simply keep posting all the links we find and aggregate them here, to keep them available for everyone, while encouraging them to read and be familiar with the threats we face in the coming election.

Second, I propose that we start discussing what we can do in the event that Obama is expected to win in a landslide and somehow McCain is declared the winner. What are our options? We can't just screw around and wait to see. We need a plan to deal with it. We need a citizen's uprising or something. So, we should discuss it until we have found some real solutions. I will start a thread on that, though there is no guarantee that it will get noticed. Please rec it if you see it.

Meanwhile, gather up all your links to articles about voter suppression, fraud and so forth and let's share them and put them together for everyone to read whenever they can.

Throw it up on the 2nd chance post if it either doesn't get noticed, or if it makes it to reader rec, put it up on the 2nd chance when it times out and I'll keep it going for you...

An interview with Sarah Palin's head speech writer. Watch and learn where the Barbiecuda's purty words come from.
