University of South Carolina, Readers Digest "palling around with domestic terrorists"

Among Bill Ayers' recent Honors and Awards was an appointment as Distinguished Scholar, McKissick Museum of Education, University of South Carolina (2005).  He also received a grant for $96,372 over the years 1996 - 2000 from Readers Digest, or an affiliated foundation (not specifically identified).

He's still a terrorist. He still tried to kill soldiers and their wives. He tried to kill policemen. He made and used bombs. He planned armed robberies. People died as a result of his efforts. In 2001 he was quoted as saying his only regret was he didn't do more, and was photographed stomping an American flag. And Obama kept socializing with him for another 4 years.

Welcome to America, my fascist friend.

Here we have principles of justice like "Innocent until proven guilty".

Please study up for your citizenship test, junior. America is not the same as whatever totalitarian state you come from.

Yep, Walter Annenberg, that wild-eyed crazy radical, clearly thought he needed this guy on his team, along with other crazy-ass subversives you can read about here:

Gitmo the whole bunch of 'em, eh?

Blah, blah, blah, just tell us what country you will be living in for the next 8 yrs, so we can send you Xmas cards.

Here's a CNN video on Ayers and Obama.
http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=190343

Ooooh, Breitbart. Now there's "fair and balanced" for ya. Get that off the SludgeReport didja?

And what is new here? They served on a board for EDUCATION. McLame just sent out a list with stating that Lenore Annenberg (whose husband allowed this domestic terrorist to spend his $50M) is a supporter of his. IF Lenore Anneberg, a McLame supporter, can allow a domosetic terrorist to serve on her husband's board, then so could Senator Obama, serve along side Bill Ayers.

He's still a terrorist

Your tense is wrong, it should be was.

Also let's get clear on something and this is by no means condoning what he did or might have done.

He still tried to kill soldiers and their wives. He tried to kill policemen.

The bombing at the San Francisco Police station where one police officer was murdered was never tied to the Weather Underground, in fact to this day no individual or group has been charged.

In a bombing that took place on February 16, 1970, a pipe bomb filled with heavy metal staples and lead bullet projectiles was set off on the ledge of a window at the Park Station of the San Francisco Police Department. In the blast, Brian V. McDonnell, a police sergeant, was fatally wounded while Robert Fogarty, another police officer, received severe wounds to his face and legs and was partially blinded. While no group has ever claimed responsibility for the bombing, the Weathermen is one of two groups that was initially investigated for the murder. An investigation into the case was reopened in 1999, and a San Francisco grand jury looked into the incident, but no indictments followed, and no one has yet been charged with the crime.

No known Weather Underground bombings resulted in anything more than property damage, no soldiers or civilians were injured or killed. So while you may condemn Ayers and his associates actions 40 years ago please, at least to it from a factual basis.

The Townhouse explosian killed several WU members, if I recall correctly.

Bombs can kill, no matter how one parses it.

OTOH...Ayers has been supported for decades by people of ALL sides of thepolitical spectrum, and who he is has not been kept secret.
