The Maverick family
As a Texan, I have to wonder if McCain & company has any real clue as to WHO the Maverick family is, and what the general family politics has been ... for generations. A google search on "Maverick Family" give some idea. "The ORIGINAL Mavericks"? I don't think so. Someone should jump on this, like in New York City, seeing as many of the family papers are in the NYPL.

The real Maverick was a lazy rancher who didn't brand his cattle, and hoped others would assume any unbranded stray was his.
And McCain never came close to James Garner's style or class.
