Soliciting a Murder

avatar

McCain and Palin demonstrate a terrifying and cold-blooded comfort with stimulating their faithful supporters to believe Obama is a "terrorist". They promote this incredibly dangerous accusation by action and studied inaction. Palin cultivates by subtext a line from Ayers to Bin Ladin. McCain stands mute before supporters who shout "kill" and openly accuse Obama of siding with Islamic terrorists.

We live in times when deranged right wing zealots enter churches to kill those they believe are liberal, or murder local party officials.

McCain and Palin are inciting violence against Obama. They may not think so themselves, but their silence in the face of such unhinged extremism is nothing less than a tacit nod. They're playing with fire, and they know it.

Does anyone seriously doubt that Travis Bickle is out there, right now, plotting to demonstrate his love for Sarah by some spectacular act he just knows she secretly wants him to perform?

Thomas Becket; Archbishop of Canterbury from 1162-1170. King Henry II is alleged to have made this now famous complaint--"Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?"--merely as a rhetorical device that was misunderstood by some well-meaning thugs who thought the king was asking them to "take care" his meddlesome priest.

I don't know how anyone who remembers how the election rhetoric from Likud set the stage for Rabin's assasination can say this isn't serious.

Not only is a Travis Bickle out there, but so is a Byron De La Beckwith. Many of them. So no, we must take this seriously. We must speak up, just as we must speak up on every occasion that racism and hatred and injustice is preached.

Thank you for your post!

Oh, give it up.
And you reap what you sow...
Obama told his followers to get aggressive and
"get in people's faces".
Be careful what you ask for.
This campaign is going to get alot uglier before it's over, and you can point the finger at Obama with his shameless race baiting and his "get in their faces" marching orders.

In what universe do you live? Obama never said any such thing. Where's the link?

Total bullshit.

Can you not even read the article google returns?

"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face," he said.

"And if they tell you that, 'Well, we're not sure where he stands on guns.' I want you to say, 'He believes in the Second Amendment.' If they tell you, 'Well, he's going to raise your taxes,' you say, 'No, he's not, he's going lower them.' You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case."

Obama wasn't inciting them to violence, he was inciting them to answer the charges being made against *him*, against Obama.

"Moonpie" is a cow pie mistaking shit for ass. Obama isn't encouraging anything other than reason and voting.

"Moonpie" is apparently one of those paid racist trolls who has the elitist job of using a borrowed laptop to post anti-Obama smears from his single-wide.

That's a foul lie. Obama was asking his supporters to debate their neighbors and win their favor. It can't be compared to calling his opponent a terrorist or allowing supporters to call for murder. Here's the full quote - from Elko NV

"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,"

If only Repugs could govern as well as they can smear.

I am sure Secret Service is paying very close attentin at Palin's and McCain's rallies.

It is despicable, but this is what GOP is reduced to today.

The AG in MN didn't charge the assassination plotters, who were caught with guns and admitted a plan, with conspiracy or anything more than possession of guns and drugs. Pretty amazing. I think the SS wanted them to be charged with an assassination plot.

You mean Colorado. The Democratic Convention was held in Denver.

hmmm.....hopefully noone is that stupid to actually do anything. by the same token the Media needs to start amping up its attacks on obama as he was and is friends with know terrorists and other undesirable loons like Wright and Flager. they use the pulpit to get their 15 minutes of fame. Obama was involved in the Brinks roberies. he was in his 20s when they occurred. how come the media ignores this fact? Kathy Boudins son was raised by Bill AYers. the media never mentioned that. kathy boudin went to jail for the murder of my Brinks security guard cousin. Ayers and DOrhn HAve Blood on their hands no doubt. Bernadine dorhn even spent time in jail, godammit, all 7 months of it for refusing to report what she knew about the Brinks robbery of June 2, 1981 in the Bronx in which was cousin was murdered and his partner permantly maimed. Where is the outcry from the public and the media about these connections to Obama? none! except hannity. he had 2 cops who were investigating AYers etc. they seemed mad as hell that he got aff scott free. not one day in jail but his nasty wife, ho, Berandine Dorhn got 7 months. now she is a lawyer? haha? with her coworker? none other than MICHELL OBAMA!! yes ...haha they work TOGTHER!!!
AMERICA ...PLEASE ELECT MCCAIN> He is the lesser of 2 evils and i dont appreciate the traditional reupblican piousness and proclamation of g-- all the time like Palin does. She is HOT but a lil on the Loon side with her religousness.
I'm moving outta here if Obama gets elected!

Hah. That was awesome! One of the best yet. A+

avatar

Why wait until we elect Obama, when you can move now!

I'm moving outta here if Obama gets elected!

Better get packing.

It was a Palin rally where the guy yelled "kill him". People yelled "terrorist" at both McCain and Palin rallies.

Moonpie and Hotguy are hate-filled, right-wing, Republican shills, looks like. The intent is to smear up the site as much as possible. Might want to ignore the trolling.

Sometimes I think the policy of not letting people comment on the site until they wait a week after joining is quite sensible - sort of like a waiting period to buy a gun. Those people in the throes of an emotional and mental breakdown can't buy a gun and shoot off. Trolls who happen to wander by and want to incite ugliness won't have the patience.

"We live in times when deranged right wing zealots enter churches to kill those they believe are liberal, or murder local party officials."

And we live in times where left wing terrorists who bomb the pentagon, the Capitol, and try to kill US Soldiers are accepted into liberal political circles and hold fund raisers, work with, socialize with, exchange phone and email with, a democratic candidate.

Would it be any different than John McCain telling G. Gordon Liddy, "I'm proud of you" and "..congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great." Oh, Liddy was convicted of planning Watergate--you know, the thingy that cost Nixon the presidency. He spent four years in jail. Where is your outrage that McCain believes in the philosophies of a convict??
Here's some of Liddy's philosophy:
Liddy, on Vitenam:
"I wanted to bomb the Red River dykes [sic]. It would have drowned half the country and starved the other half. There would have been no way the Viet Cong could have operated if we had the will-power to do that."

Liddy, advising Branch Davidians how to defend themselves from ATF agents during a radio show:
"If the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms insists upon a firefight, give them a firefight. Just remember, they're wearing flak jackets and you're better off shooting for the head."

Liddy, on the impact Adolf Hitler had on him as a child:
When he listened to Hitler on the radio, it "made me feel a strength inside I had never known before," he explains. "Hitler's sheer animal confidence and power of will [entranced me]. He sent an electric current through my body."

Where's your outrage, fool?
