Sarah Palin: The Drive-By Accuser

So Sarah Palin thinks that it is time that the American people got to know Barack Obama?  That is her tag-line/excuse for starting up the William Ayers controversy.

How about letting the American people get to know Sarah Palin?   Where she stands, how she got where she is, what she thinks personally.  Katie Couric tried, but it just "annoyed" the dainty Sarah.  But that same dainty miss can get down into the dirt and throw out barbs and accusations without ever having to defend them.  Why?  Because she is sequestered, and the MS  lets her get away with this drive-by crapola.  No one has had the temerity to ask her ONE single word about TrooperGate!  How absurd is that?

She talked about ol' Joe goin' back into the past, but she goes back to the 60's with Ayers, and McCain loves to go back 40 years to when he was a POW.  TrooperGate is NOW.  Why are there no questions?  Why is she protected by the media as they continue to give her air time?

This is the same person who said it isn't patriotic to pay taxes a day before her tax returns show that she cheated on her own taxes by not claiming her per diem (that paid her for staying in her own house rather than the governor's mansion - which presumably still had to pay for heat and electricity and maintenance whether she was there or not).

The same person who won't answer questions about her own scandals back "up there" in Alaska.

The same person who won't hold a press conference, or answer legitimate questions about who the hell SHE is...

What is wrong with the Corporate Media?  Can they not even PRETEND to be fair?  This drive-by accuser should be ignored until she faces the public herself.  Not one inch of footage should be aired until she acts like a legitimate nominee.

Can we start a petition?  I don't know how to do it, but it seems like it is needed, since she gets to spew her stuff without any accountability.  I am so sick of it!

Any ideas?

There's a start. You forgot to mention:

The same Sarah Palin whose husband was, for years, a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, aka AIP.

Rec'd.

Thanks for the link, and this really grabbed me:

"If this doesn't resonate with every woman in America, I'll eat my hat."

—Alaska delegate Bill Noll on Sarah Palin

Dear Bill, get ready to eat your hat. —The Eds.

I would have gone more into Todd Palin's association with that group, but it goes against Barack's admonition to leave families out of it. I don't think that applies to Todd's (or Sarah's for that matter) refutation of subpoenas -- illegality is a different issue altogether.

Glad to see you on board, LisB!

Don't you like the term, "Drive-By Accuser?" I just love it, don'cha know!!

I love it too!

But, in regards to Todd Palin and his association with the AIP, Sarah has videotaped comments to the group, she's been on stage praising the group, and therefore she is, in a small way, involved. Just like she claims Obama is involved with Ayers, only I'm not saying the word "terrist" when I say it.

And Todd, it's well known, sat in on many a mayor's and governor's meeting in Alaska many a time. So therefore, I don't see that I'm attacking family, per se, by bringing it up.

Right you are (as always, LisB) and here is the link for those who are unfamiliar:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaskan_Independence_Party

an excerpt:

The Alaskan Independence Party is a political party in the U.S. state of Alaska that advocates a state vote which includes several options, including increased state autonomy, territorial status, becoming a separate nation or commonwealth state, and, failing that, for increased Alaskan control of Alaskan land, gun rights, privatization, home schooling, and reduction of governmental intrusion in the private lives of its citizens with adherence to the founding documents of the United States. The party has appeared on the ballot in Alaska in all state elections since 1970.[citation needed]

At other times, party members have also proposed that the state explore the possibility of joining Canada.

And here are our Sarah's commments to them at a meeting;

Golly gee. She really is a patriot, isn't she?

Todd, et al, did not "refute" the subpoenas; they decided to ignore them, which is a CRIMINAL offense.

And, as he is a party to the "Troopergate" matter, which centrally concerns his wife, and her abuse of the powers of the office -- IN WHICH HE PARTICIPATED -- in violation of CRIMINAL statutes, ther is no way to leave him out of it, even though he is part of her "family". The office and powers abused were PUBLIC, and HE was part of it as much as she.

Palin exemplifies everything that's wrong with the Republican party and, yet, they can't see it.

They don't just drink teh Kool-Aid, they bathe in it.

Those two comments generalize away from the specific.

Forget the AIP -- "Troopergate" is CURRENT, and is concisely summed up as being a "rogue investigation," conducted by Sarah and Todd Palin, using the powers of the governor's office, in pursuit of a PERSONAL/FAMILY vendetta against Wooten.

That including illgally accessing Wooten's confidential personnel and worker's comp. files -- the latter overseen by a private company.

The case is rife with CRIMINAL violations -- so one needn't go back to the AIP issue: "Troopergate" is CURRENT.

Yup. Everything done on the sly. Speed-dates world leaders (for "experience"). And does drive-by attacks.

I love that meme.

She's gonna be hit of a ton of the icky stuff at the end of the week.

Next month she has to go back to Alaska and face the music there.

When I watch Palin, I am reminded that she is very good at one thing. It is something she demonstrated in high school, earning her the nickname, Sarah Barracuda." She is an attack dog (fish, whatever).

And she is perfectly matched with a man who was known, not affectionately, in school as McNasty.

McNasty and the Barracuda.

Sounds like a shitty sitcom, but not a very good presidential ticket, IMO.

I'm happy to recommend your post, too, Jan. There's something very jarring about Palin, a newcomer to the national politics with a whole lot of shady stuff in her own background, attacking Obama. But let's not forget McCain himself in all this. Check out this archive of McCain articles on the Phoenix New Times website (the newspaper is associated with the Village Voice). It's a virtual treasure trove of McCain dirt, going back several decades, to nearly the very beginning of McCain's political career.

There's enough for a multitude of blog posts in there, but I don't have time to write any right now. Please circulate the link.

And while I'm at it, I happen to think since Palin's a Christian, that someone ought to remind her of Matthew 7:1-5.

Whoops...here's the link:

Could not agree more with this post. Obama wants to stay above the fray, and his campaign has clearly made the decision that Palin is irrelevant -- she is not moving the needle with undecideds -- but for the sanity of Obama's supporters, can we please have someone fire back at this woman? All we need is a surrogate or two to hit the talk shows pointing out the hypocrisy and cowardice of lobbing in these personal attacks after avoiding any meaningful interview, especially given the appalling record chronicled in the preceding posts (AIP, Troopergate, lies about the Bridge to Nowhere, etc.).
Just as other McCain surrogates faded from view when they were called out (when's the last time you heard from Gramm, Fiorina, Davis or Scheunemann?), Palin will get backed down if Obama's people bring some heat.

Bio

The first thing I did when I turned 16 was go out and apply for a passport. I've travelled widely, and lived in Europe for a while. I have 3 children; 23 (girl) 19 (boy twins), and after staying home with them for 17 years, I went back to nursing 3 years ago. It was hard to find someone to hire me, but I am in a wonderful office (infertility, ivf, etc) and work with great people.
