McCain Gets Confused, Can't Find Way Off Stage

A short while ago as John McCain was finishing up a speech his left eye twitched a couple of times.  When he turned from the podium and was confused which way to go first turning to his right to exit, then turning around and going the opposite way, then standing still for a moment until an aide showed him the way.  Some speculation on medical reasons this may have happened has been posted on the americablog.  Video of it has also been posted of it.

This is stupid

Is it not bad enough that he doesn't know how to get us out of Iraq, and he doesn't know how to get the economy out of a ditch, and he doesn't know how to provide more health care more cheaply?

He walked up there, how come he can't find his way back? He looks confused and momentarily feeble. No wonder he can't find a way out of Iraq.

Not being able to find his way off the stage gracefully is a pretty apt metaphor for McCain's political career the last couple of years.

Actually, his left eyelid involuntarily closed and the left side of his mouth twitched upwards two times just before he left the stage, if you read the full report that Bademus links to. Many commenters there felt it was the sign of a mini-stroke, but a neurological doctor just posted about 20 minutes ago that it's more likely a common facial problem that occurs after having surgery on that side of the face -- which doesn't explain the confusion McCain suffered while trying to leave the stage, but...
