McCain Campaign Circulating Petition in AK to Squelch Troopergate Investigation
A commenter of an Anchorage Daily News article just posted the text of an email he received today from the McCain/Palin campaign. It contained a petition to the Alaska state legislature to stop the Troopergate investigation. The email requested the recipient to print it, sign it, get others to sign it and drop it off or fax it to the McCain/Palin Victory 2008 headquarters. The commenter would like to get the word out that he/she received this so I am posting a copy of the comment here. You may want to call or fax that office yourself and let them know what a dirty campaign you think they are running. Here is the comment:

they have apparently toned down their language (removed the direct references to obama).
the palin rally was a flop, only managing to get a crowd of 300 while the obama rally which happened at the same time drew over 1200 alaskans. notably, the local paper Alaska Daily News wrote a 500 word story about the palin rally which included two sentences about the obama rally, wrote no separate story on the obama rally, simply providing a "slide show."
as AKMuckraker pointed out in a later post, they missed the story: "alaska governor receives surprising opposition at rally," or something along those lines.

Interesting that never got any press here. Neither of the large anti-Palin rallies did. You have to find it through mudflats or Anchorage Daily News.
